Very true Tucker Black but the always contingent is here on LP.

As of now Mississippi and Alabama don't have lotto, but when either one or both get it and someone from there wins a PB or MM jackpot guaranteed someone will post, It's always Mississippi (or Alabama).

Powerball is the same game in every state (except California with its stupid parimutuel rule, but no different for the jackpot).

The probability of winning has nothing to do with what state you buy the ticket in.

Louisiana started the Powerball on March 21, 1995. I remember it vividly, with all the excitment in the air, it was a huge event back then.

In the grand scheme of things two years compared to the last of all time winners doesn't really skew the list.

Granted some states came in later, but still.

Think of what Rod Serling could have done with this-

The day after it expired a winning Powerball ticket that would have been worth $500,000,000 washed up on shore in a bottle.

June 10th PB winner 2017 - California, Ocean View.

Jan 6th- New Hamsphire..It brushes up against the Atlantic Ocean.

March 17th PB winner- Penn..It brushes up against Lake Erie.* Large body of water.

March 24th PB winner- Louisiana, ocean view.

May 19th PB winner- NJ.- Ocean View.

June 20th PB winner- Oregon.- Ocean View.

August 11th PB winner- NY.- Ocean View.

Since the list is for Powerball matrix and cost changes would apply to all PB states at the same time.

As for the last win for each state well since you're on LP you're on the Internet so you look it up if you really want to know that bad.

For all those lamenting always about NY, FL, CA, etc.......

Out of the 19 states listed only 8 touch an ocean or the Guff, kind of put the kabosh on that theory too. One of those 7 is Pennsylvania, Philadelphia is a port but not really known for its becahes!

The last paragraph before the list shows the unluckiest states, too
