I never play either. They're sucker's bets, my state doesn't allow anonymoose winners, and it would take too long to drive to buy them in a state where you can claim anonymoosely.

After a really big jackpot the next one often grows faster than usual for a few rolls, and then drops back to a more normal pace. Right now the annuity values for both MM and PB are also benefiting from higher interest rates.

The last MM run reached 102 million on the 8th drawing, and now it's at 106 on the 6th drawing. That puts it a week ahead of the last run. If it follows the progression of the last run from this point it would reach about 1.5 billion on the 24th drawing. Compare that to... [ More ]

It had been increasing by $20 mil. I had hoped it would continue doing so. Unfortunately, the lump sums are down significantly from a few months ago.

Alas, the days of the high roll overs are no more. If MM rolls tonight, it only goes up to $106 Million. Not bad but I was hoping that it would keep rolling $20 million or more.

And if the PB rolls tonight, it goes up to $92 Million or $52.6 Million lump sum. Again I am pleased with the roll over amounts but looking at the lump sum for similar amounts from a few months ago, they are about 4-5 million bucks smaller. That could buy you a nice little mansion.

I believe that was a one off. People were spending too much as the JP neared and surpassed 1 billion. I know I experienced emotional fatigue so it was no surprise that others did, too. But now the increases seem robust and within the norm.

Ugh. I was in a good mood the other day and thought I'd pick up a couple of tickets. They had delivered a new and improved terminal scanner, etc. You wd think that if they were going to drop off new equipment take the old they could have had someone connect it but noooooo.

So, the next day I ask if they are selling tickets he said sure. But he couldnt get the machine to work. In his defense, it did look complicated. No more pushing an icon that looks like the game you want the # of tickets.... [ More ]

it's too expensive to play.

the kwik trip store clerk where we stop frequently says that's what she's been hearing, too.

now the two big time lotteries have set the bar above of a Billion, eh, the Million dollar prize ain't so attractive anymore.

I am kind of a fan of letting the PB get to $100 Million Cash value mark... MM to get up to $100-$150 Million Cash value range. Can depend if someone I participate with, asks when the advertised annuity is over $100 Mill or maybe buying a gift/Christmas present if the jackpots are below the $100 Million mark.

Now that both Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots have been won and the jackpots are low, will you still buy at least one ticket or will you wait until the jackpots get bigger again?

There have been many times where someone won a low jackpot right after both jackpots had been won.

I feel that you can't win if you don't play, so I have one ticket for MM and one for PB.
