I generally don't watch the show but decided to catch this last one that aired Friday night: S6 E10 Most Outrageous Purchases. As it rolled on, I remembered why I didn't like it but the last house in the third and final segment caught my eye b/c it was so familiar when they teased it before the commercial break. It was the Eagle Crest Estate, bought by a $180 million lottery winner Rick Knudsen.

Does watching a commercial for that show count?

Apparently lots of people watch this type of show because there are enough of them. I'm waiting for a show about rich people buying islands off the Somali coastline. Only a handful of these stories are about real lottery winners, but if you call anyone with unearned money the same as winning the lottery, then it's easy to understand the name of the show.

Who actually watches these shows? How do you prepare yourself for it? Do you pull up a chair,find yourself at times leaning forward, holding a cold ? Do you come away a lil depressed after seeing how winners are living the life of riley , while you not? Sounds traumatic..

Coin, New York's Rod Serling was a one of a kind genius, a writing proliferate enhanced with a great imagination, since he was a kid. literally wrote thousands of scripts for CBS TV and movies. There exist many scripts that were never produced.

Yeah Artist, Serling seemed very familiar with addicted gamblers.

There's one episode where this guy dies and winds up in a casino. He can't lose a bet.He tells a pit boss that he didn't think even heaven would be this good. The pit boss tells him this isn't heaven.

Typical Serling.....it was hell for the gambler because he couldn't lose a bet.

The US didn't have any lotteries when TZ came on. Imagine what Serling could do with it if we did!

Thanks Coin Toss. It did not seem like a Serling written story. I think the closest story to a lottery was with the camera that took photos before things happened. But they used it for horse races. Or the story with the casino jackpot machine and the guy is addicted to playing.

Me too. I actually saw 2 episodes from 1964 which I had not seen before...like that confederate soldier hanging one...not my fave and too European...lol. Loved the computer one with Wally Cox that I had not seen before either.

I saw on the television news this morning, of a lady and her family, and other's staying at a rv camp ground type of situation.

She mentioned that, she sent her son, to another town, for more opportunities.

i am staying with a man right now, not the easiest situation, as he is a stickler, but there is cable here.

Today is Friday, November 30, 2018, According to my tv schedule My Lottery Dream Home is scheduled to run tonight from 7:30 pm until 11:00 pm. But I think that the 7:00 pm - 7:30 pm will be filled with a My Lottery Dream Home show.

The 9:00 pm hour is usually when a new show runs.

Most of those reality fixer-upper shows give the buyers a line of credit that requires a half million yearly salary so maybe the lottery winners are in the minority. And to answer your question, NOPE I wouldn't do it if I won $5 million.

The shows My Lottery Dream Home will be shooting new ones next year beginning in January.

I would think that they depend on volunteers from the Lottery winners. Their highest winner has been $20 or $30 million dollars.

The shows include the winners comparing three properties and picking one. Although one woman looked at three homes and then decided to build her own home. David Bromstead did a follow up on her.

If you won $100 million dollars would you volunteer to be on the show
