I wrote a program to calculate the exact theoretical probabilities of the various matches in a 5/39 game with the pairwise differences method, assuming draws are random.

0 of 5: 24.63471990528498%

1 of 5: 42.31593199033136%

2 of 5: 25.562560035573732%

3 of 5: 6.706197555352394%

4 of 5: 0.7523024468769947%

5 of 5: 0.028288066580537004%

So yes, it is about a 75% chance of getting at least 1 hit.

Also here are the theoretical probabilities of the matches in a 5/36 game

use a delta of 12 using the last 2-3 draws. Example draws Take 5 NY

2-4-9-21-29 , 6-10-11-12-29

gives you 2-14-26

4-16-28

9-21-33

5-17-29

6-18-30

10-22-34

11-23-35

12-24-36

this give you 21 numbers to play for next draw.you could go another draw for more numbers. I find that if you have a delta pair of 12, in a winning line one or 2 of those 3 numbers will appear next 1-2 draws so I use them as keys.

Ok so here is an alternate idea... Create delta numbers for all possible combinations. Then use only the numbers that list under the delta number with the highest frequency of occurrence. would definitely create more combinations than you could afford.to play, but would turn up winners in fewer combinations than the total combinations of the game. Just a thought tho, maybe it could spark a better idea with someone else reading this post

There is a 5 left out of those Calculations I think since there ar 5 Balls that could be in the 10. I think that would be 50%

So Actual is better than expected by 25

I have done a quick look at California Fantasy 5 and hope that I have not made a mistake somewhere.

I am Getting a 75% hit Rate for at least 1 Number in a Draw Matching a Gap from the Previous Draw. In Fact, the Hit Rate for Delaying from 1-7 games is +/- 2% (of 75%) for each Delay. I am also getting a 56% Hit Rate for at least 1 number repeating from the previous Draw. In fact, the Hit % for Repeats Delayed from 1-7 Draws is +/-1% (of 56%).

That Still leaves

I call this the pairwise differences method because you take a 5-number lottery game result, and then compute the 10 pairwise differences to generate a new set of numbers.

Example 1: On November 28, the five white balls for Powerball were 4, 19, 59, 68, 69. The pairwise differences of these numbers are

69 - 68 = 1 69 - 59 = 10 69 - 19 = 50 69 - 4 = 65 68 - 59 = 9 68 - 19 = 49 68 - 4 = 64 59 - 19
