Well, there actually is a very distinct advantage with playing one's own numbers IF a lot of strategic combos are being fielded at a particular. The average player spending even up to $50 should save all the headaches and just do QP's...honestly. Otherwise, mark a dedicated set of combos and just play them over and over and over until you hit something like most players do. My head hurts just thinking of trying to select a couple of lines with numbers 1-35. That's 3 1/2 times the field of Pick3... [ More ]

You don't have to buy a quick pick. The reason most winners are quick picks is because most tickets sold are quick picks. The probability of winning is EXACTLY the same. Do whichever method you prefer. It's not an advantage nor is it a disadvantage to pick your own numbers.

Being curious, I counted the jackpot winners for 2018 (of course one more draw tomorrow night).

There were 31 jackpot winners. 27 were QP's.

I almost always play just 1 line, sometimes QP, sometimes I'll pick numbers. There were times that I played $2, $5, or $10 when the jackpot was $500,000 or higher. It didn't matter, I rarely won anything, or if I did, it would be $5 from the bonus ball.

With Texas Two Step, if you look at the winners on the Texas Lottery Website, there are more people winning with quick picks than form played numbers.

Lotto Factor Dot Com SMART PICKS TEXAS TWO STEP has gotten me 3 of 5. Good for Cash Five also. Those games are tough.
