If you don't mind me asking, on which game did you win the +200K on? The reason I ask is because, more of than not, such wins aren't typically repeated but there are people who have hit jackpots a couple or so times which actually fascinates me. I don t intend to continue this conversation, but are you kidding me? You won almost a quarter mil once and your complaining about winning? Most people never ever win that much. Ever. Gosh.

I probably made a little over $20,000 grand last year. Straight pick3 and pick4. So no I m not whining or complaining. I m trying to double it this year. And if it don t happen, well it s my own da- fault.

What part about OVERALL ODDS OF WINNING is 1 in 24.0 is tripping people up? Clearly, a lie since they added numbers to the games. I have been playing the Lottery in Texas since 1992. The highest amount I have won to date is $234,567.43 in 1995. I do play frequent and often and usually win around 2 to $5,000 a year. The last two years I have won ZIP. Any other WINNERS, not WHINERS out there who has seen the same winnings drop off

For some, devising systems and back testing them is much more fun actually playing. And a helluva a lot cheaper.

I'd rather be a crackpot poring over Excel spreadsheets, or figuring what Pick 3 combos correspond to my different dreams, than a fool spending $96 on Mega Millions tickets and not even getting the mega ball. The systems people have figured out how to entertain themselves and others without enriching the state.

I think it's obvious that the folks who believe lottery analysis is a lost cause are mathematicians.

And they are 100 percent correct when they say there is no mathematical solution to lottery play.

Odds and probabilities are their weapons and they don't hesitate shooting down any workout that relies on some kind of mathematical manipulation.

Unfortunately, their beliefs are so strong that they are blinded and can't accept the possibility that there are non-math solutions.

You know, you and I have had some doozies in the past but I've never taken issue with agreeing with you when you're on the money...so to speak. It's almost unbelievable how it's assumed that if one spends 'X' amount of money every week on PB, MM's, or both that they should automatically win it or win significantly at some point. You're not the only one who doesn't understand probability. How could you expect to win anything meaningful when the odds for that start at about 1 in 1 million, and also think there's anything unusual about having 48 tickets that are all losers? Lottery players are the only people on the planet that think odds of 1 in a million means they have a chance but odds of 1 in 100 mean a result was somehow unusual.

Don't let anyone get you down about not understanding the math at a glance. There are many different types of intelligence.

Remember, though, that the lottery really is a form of entertainment. Not everyone finds it entertaining, though, just like how not everyone enjoys golfing, watching sitcoms or cooking. If you don't get any entertainment out of playing unless you win something, then it could just be that you don't really find the lottery to be entertaining. It's not for everyone.

As for people creating more systems in many cases, systems for all forms of gambling, are sold by players who are just trying to raise more money to go out and gamble with.

Also some system sellers realize that some players just have to have something to blame their losses on.

It's not rigged, you were just unlucky. It's a terrible game to play, which is why so many people lose. You are not alone!

If you buy 48 tickets with randomly chosen numbers (quickpick), with a 1 in 24 chance that any one particular line will win something, the probability all 48 lose is 13%. (23/24)^48=0.129657. That is nowhere near close enough to call it rigged.

They don't use computers to draw the numbers, so that theory fell out the window.

I play all 4 of those game also. Look, they are ALL hard to hit. Even the new Cash 5. Even the Pick 3 and Daily 4. That's why I never spend more than a buck or 2 on a ticket.

Every now and then someone new comes on here and says what you said. I haven't won so it's rigged .

1 in 24 tickets is only 4.1667 percent (0.04166666).

That translates to 4.1667 winners for every 100 tickets sold.

That doesn't mean if you buy 48 tickets that you will have 2 winners.

The last two years I have won ZIP. Before that, I always hit a $8 or more on Megamillions and Powerball. I live in Texas I also play the Texas Lotto and Texas Two-step. I won $5 on the Texas Two Step back in May of 2018. I am seriously thinking about walking away from all of it. The Multi-State lottos can go to $1.6 billion and yet only have 6 second tier winners? Give me a break. Since they got rid of the machines and let computers do it I think it is nothing but a scam. Just to prove my point
