The MGM fire (old location on the strip, different from now) was started when a Keno board caught fire.

A guy I worked with somehow got pictures of the start of it and people in the casino were playing slots and pointing at the fireball as it came towards them.

I was driving to work that day and remembered the heavy traffic, got to work, saw the news on a break and the Vegas channels were calling it the Toweing Inferno, which it was.
