A store near me has a vending machine that seems to always have a problem with the play slip scanner. A clerk told me it was because some people instead of scanning a scratch-off will put it in the play slip scanner slot or in the slot where the money goes. Regardless of the cause, it's still an inconvenience just like trying to find an unmarked play slips.

The thing is we can blame the vending machines, play slips, clerks, other players, etc. but it's up to us to make sure we're walking out... [ More ]

I just noticed something on these new machines yesterday.......

under each game is printed what days the drawings are on, for example Lucky Day Lotto, Drawings Every Day.......

Under Illinois Lotto it says Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday

The Wednesday drawings moved to Thursdays a few years back, I guess Camelot didn't do their homework, or whoever put these new machines in.......I wonder how long they were standing by

I had the same problem, I just click OK, wait a second and I get the credit for money inserted. I never accepted my money on first try.

What I don't like about it is scanning multiple tickets for winners. I have to click OK between scans or it will not scan next ticket. If I scan a loser and not click OK (because I am looking at my tickets and the scanner), my next ticket could be a winner, but I not know it because the screen has the results from the last losing ticket!

Okay CT.

I don't know about anyone else, but when I need a new supply of play slips I'll just ask if they have any. They usually have about a 9x12x5 inch box under the counter full of them. I'll just ask for a stack about an inch or so high. It might take a minute or two for them to dig it out, but it sure beats hoping there will be some on the display. Around here there almost never is.

Then I can take my time filling them out at home without being in anybodies way.

Depends how busy the counter is an if there are any play slips.

This was at a grocery store and lotto is not their raison d'etre

Stupid question time. With all the problems they've been having with all the machines, why in the world would you do anything but give your play slips to the clerk

So much for high tech new machines.........

Put a dollar in one of them to get a Lotto ticket........the machine ate the dollar, then showed a message;

COULD NOT IDENTIFY YOUR BILL PLEASE REINSERT

Someone from the service counter was there and said there's not one location in Illinois that has these machines that hasn't had problems....
