Ok. That makes it clearer. If I return to New York I might buy me a 52 week draw... a lot of cash needed then...

This doesn t directly address the wire act but on the NY lottery website they have directions on how to cash in your winning ticket when you re overseas. So this must have been an issue they have dealt with enough to warrant inclusion on their FAQ page.

I think no. All lottery agents that buy tickets to other people keep them in the country and don t send them abroad.

So it s fine to leave the country with a ticket but illegal to travel back to claim the winning ticket.

I would think that the wire act only applies to things you do over a phone line.

If you purchase the ticket in person and then leave the country there shouldn't be a problem.

It would be like me traveling to NJ and placing a sports bet at a casino in Atlantic City and then returning to NY. No laws broken there.

I m also a foreigner. Had the same thought when I went to NY a couple of year. But I did not buy any multidraw, i had issues with the wire act and came to the conclusion that the ticket might be not valid if it would leave the US. The ticket should stay in US and not travel abroad...

Rhode Island - MULTIDRAW box for 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or 26 consecutive drawings... I've never tried to purchase a number of draws in between 10 and 26... and I just normally get 10 draws.

In Michigan you can buy 30 draws for MM and PB, 10 draws for Ohio, and 15 draws for Maryland.

These are the Mega Millions states that offer online lottery subscriptions:

Maine: Subscriptions are for 13, 26, or 52 weeks.

New York: Subscriptions are available for a minimum of two weeks.

North Carolina: Subscriptions range from a single draw to a full year.

North Dakota: Subscriptions range from a single draw to a full year.

Virginia: Subscriptions are available for a minimum of two weeks.

Haven't heard of a year long advance play. However in Florida you can buy up to 52 consecutive drawings (6 months).

Not aware of any states that let you buy a year's worth of tickets. In Texas the maximum number of draws is 10.

Hey

I am not a US citizen. Every couple of months I travel to the US and during my trips I would sometimes buy powerball or megamillions tickets.

I realized last time that you could select multidraw in order to participate and multiple draws, up to 10 I think. I am wondering if there is also the possibility to purchase a yearly ticket, so this would let you participate in 104 draws if I am not mistaken.

Maybe someone could help...
