RNGLosergirl

No real lawyer is going to touch this. The odds are formulated based on the matrix of possible outcomes.

No person in their right mind would run a game of chance without knowing the odds up front. All games

are designed to earn the vender a profit. Most venders will try to make the game payouts as attractive

as they can while also avoiding as much risk as possible. Lotteries have overhead cost that can run in the

millions. It does not matter how the game is displayed

Sorry I fail to see the difference between RNG and a game of odds ( unless the RNG is rigged then it's different).

There was a time when I thought that if you flip a coin many times in row and it's all heads, then the next flip is more likely to be a tail.

This is false however, flipping a coin will always give you a 50/50 odds of heads or tails.

RNG produce similar results to a game of odds. So that each game does not depend on previous games. Just like a coin flipping (unless it's rig... [ More ]

I was in yan's chinese restaurant for dinner tonight and watched a lady win over $600 on a new vlt and my mother won a jackpot in 2013 from a vlt. If you do not like to play vlt's then don't waste your time playing them. But people win on them I have seen it plenty of times at various restaurants and lounges here in the Mcminnville area.-weshar75

Raven and Todd, you both see what I am saying but in different ways. For me a game of odds would mean that the more money I put into a machine, or the more times played, the more likely a win possible, the odds get better with each play, in contradiction with a RNG game of chance where like one of you said your chance of winning is the same every time you press play with no relation to how many times before. Maybe it is me who is confused, but i think these are too completely different things. I... [ More ]

The VLT's description does not say there is a predetermined number of winners. It says, It's important to note that Video Lottery terminals operate randomly at all times, no matter how many wins or losses have occurred in the past, altering play patterns, time of day, or position of the machine within a Video Lottery retail location. In other words, the result of your last game has no bearing on the result of your next game.

VLT gaming machines are usually equated more with games like bingo, pull-tabs, scratch-offs, or lotto. This is because there are a pre-determined number of winners, and players are competing with each other for a prize rather than against the house. There is also not necessarily a winner in each game.

https://blog.what-is-gambling.com/2013/11/14/what-is-the-difference-between-video-lottery-terminals-and-slot-machines

In general I don't like the use of computers to conduct lottery drawings, but setting that aside, I am having a difficult time understanding your meaning. When a lottery sets the odds for a game, it doesn't mean that a winner is guaranteed to win every so often, it just means that the odds of winning the random drawing are 1 in ___.

Since you say the two are different, maybe you could explain the differences between a RNG random number generated game of chance and a game with odds . You may... [ More ]

Hi Joe, thanks for your reply. I have read all the ways the lottery describes it's payout percentages that you have iterated here. This is exactly my point, the machine itself displays game rules which say the overall odds of winning a prize are such and such. Well as you have pointed out the result of each spin is random and long term principles apply, is not the impression any regular reasonable gambler gets when they look at the rules and see overall odds of winning . I have asked many regula... [ More ]

This is what the Oregon Lottery website says about VLTs:

Each Video LotterySM line game s theoretical payout percentage can be found on the individual game pages, by clicking the GAMES button and looking up a particular game. If a percentage range is indicated for a line game, this means that certain pays may be increased with larger wagers, and/or a bonus may return more with a larger wager.

Theoretical payout percentages represent the percentage of all credits played returned to

Hey folks, I am new, but I just lost my lawsuit against Oregon state lottery and their (video lottery terminals) VLT's probably because i was pro se`. Anyway did you know that VLT's are RNG random number generated games of chance but are advertised on the machines as games with odds? I am looking for a lawyer who has the guts to take on the lottery, any takers
