A couple of weeks ago I bought my tickets over the counter and the money came up $2.50 more than it should have been but the line was very long so I paid it but when I got to my next stop I was still wondering about it so matched my tickets up with my play slips.

Possibly a dirty scanner on the machine. When people fill out playslips with pens instead of pencils, the ink can get on the scanner head if it's not completely dry. Also, pencil graphite and paper dust from the playslips can affect the head.

That is not supposed to happen. When the playslip is marked, only those numbers can print out. No other number can print out except as marked.

Sometimes what happens is the reader on the machine gets dirty and won't read the playslips properly. A little cleaning of it, is all it takes to fix it.

Kind of like cleaning the heads on a cassette deck, or 8 track, for those old enough to remember.

Sometimes the machines just malfunction.

A month or so back I was buying tix with playslips. Tx Lotto and an All or Nothing. The machine kept saying the playslips were invalid. I ended up just buying QP's.

Later in the week I took the same playslips to another store and they ran fine.

I have had that happen before. I am not sure how or why, I toss that playslip and remake it. Most of the time I find that they DONT pick up a number that I have marked and they hand it back to me saying this card will not scan/has too many or too few

I stood there watching the guy print the ticket. He did not give me a different ticket than the one that came out of the machine. And remember, I did give him my playslip. The odds would be incredible that a quick pick or someone else's mistake was a different number ending in a 9. I picked 69, the number I wound up with instead was 19.

Most Clerks are honest, but some Liquor stores....are far from it

Clerks can't cancel their PB and MM ticket mistakes so they can either try to sell them or buy them. As players we can refuse play slip mistakes and probably why most clerks prefer that players get QPs.

Did you check the time on the ticket? If it was not the time you bought it, the clerk gave you a ticket he already had behind the counter. Probably a mistake ticket from someone else.

Clerk messed up most likely..I recently went into my local gas station to play three powerball cards. I got home and looked over the numbers. She played one of the cards twice. It was past ten o clock..so I couldn t go back and play the right card and possbily cancel the duplicate...duplicate was not a winner.

In all the years I've played the lotteries I've never encountered this before. So I am going to ask what you think may have happened. I pick my own numbers.

I gave the clerk my ticket, I played one number set. The clerk ran the numbers and I didn't notice him having any issues in regards to the machine printing my numbers.
