Tell me what your strategy is (not in full detail) i tell mine.

Now that we've held up our end of the bargain, we are all waiting with bated breath for strangerthanfic to reveal his winning scratch-off strategy. But considering that he's a one-post wonder so far, I think there's a higher chance of one of us hitting the big one than of him ever returning to this thread.

In N.C. the $10.00 scratch-off starts at 000 and ends at 029. Total of 30 in a book. #21 or #22 seem to have brought me luck. Five years ago, the first or last of the book were pretty good but not anymore, plus now N.C. Lottery prints up a gazillion of each scratch-off game so good luck with that.

Joan didn't predict where the ticket would be delivered she did some math based on the print location of the top prize. Once you have that all you need is the bankroll and a little bit of luck. But mathematically you don't need a lot of luck with something like a 70% chance. If I had the bankroll i would break a couple of the games in our state just to prove a point of there being a flaw.

What is most impressive to me about Joan is that Texas is a really big state. So top prize tickets are spread out over a much larger area than any other state.

She did have the advantage of winning a Texas Lotto jackpot before, so she had a nice bankroll to buy all those scratchers.

I've heard it's better to buy them in low-income areas, the logic being that the lottery puts more small-medium winners there to get poor people hooked. Affluent people don't care about $100 wins. I don't have any evidence this is true, but it's plausible, and certainly within most state lotteries' abilities. The risks of traveling to the ghetto just to buy scratch-offs probably outweigh the benefits, so maybe don't take this too seriously.

I wish I were as smart as Joan Ginther and could pre... [ More ]

The wrong strategy is thinking the more you spend the better chance you will have. There s a certain amount of winners in each book. Each book typically gives a little over 50% back total return. I personally am a sucker for the first and last ticket on each roll. My philosophy is that if the first ticket has something then it is a good book. But really the best strategy is not to get addicted to these because most of them are 5,10,20 even 30 times the price of a lotto ticket. You can see how fa... [ More ]
