The Arkansas, South Carolina, and North Carolina logos all promote education and while I see nothing wrong with that it's almost saying make a donation to our educational fund .

That design makes me feel lucky to play in that State

And New Jersey has a four leaf clover, Virginia and Oregon have crossed fingers, Idaho is showing the money, and Iowa has a lucky star and saying Woo Hoo for You .

I know it's the keystone state, and no it doesn't help. Check out the website for the State of PA and scroll to the bottom to see all the keystone-themed logos of various government departments:

The departments of Agriculture, Environmental Protection, Military and Veterans Affairs, and General Services all have good keystone-themed logos. The PA Lottery Dept's logo just doesn't measure up to other PA gov't departments or other state lottos in my view.... [ More ]

Pennsylvania is the worst.

Would it help if you knew that PA is the keystone state and has had that nickname for over 200 years? It's not as pretty as some of the logos, but being pretty isn't the primary criteria. The keystone logo has been in use for a very long time, and unlike some of the other logos in the collection some variation of the keystone logo is used by all state agencies in PA. I agree with you on that about Illinois. That design makes me feel lucky to play in that State, even though the State it's self struggles to pay winners off. lol

Just to be clear, Mississippi does NOT have a logo yet. The website that was constructed at mslottery.com is not an official website of the Mississippi Lottery, and whoever put it out there will likely get a takedown notice at some point, because they present it as if they are the real thing.

best: AZ lottery - i like their cursive writing; Louisiana lottery - love the nod to jazz; VI lottery - it looks vaca-ish.

Least favorite - RI lottery logo - or South Dakota - both arent snazzy enough.

Oregon uses the left, izquierda. VA uses the right hand. Florida is the best. None really say play me except for Illinois.

Thanks. I have a lot to say about ALL these logos, but think I'll do an LP blog post because I don't want to hijack the thread.

Are birds a symbol of luck? I think in some cultures they are, playing a large part in mythology, even revered by some Native American tribes. Although, if statues could talk, I think they'd beg to differ.

Good catch about the crossed fingers.

I think it's interesting that Minnesota, New Mexico, and Oklahoma all incorporate their state birds into the logo. And the Florida flamingo, while not the official state bird, is also very iconic. Are birds a symbol of luck

I wonder which logo was designed first; Oregon, Virginia or that of the UK National Lottery?

I think the TN logo is much better than some of the rest. I like the ones that incorporate something the state is known for; there are several of those.

These are the logos for US states and territories that have lotteries (or will have, in Mississippi's case), in semi-alphabetical order. Which state(s) have the best and which have the worst logos in your opinion?

Personally, my top three are Kentucky, Colorado, and Idaho. Pennsylvania is the worst.
