Good call!

Keep the ticket and scan it after the draw. You paid for it. Its yours! The cashier has no reason to throw it away. If anything it would be to his advantage to have it for the lottery rep to show what problems they were having with the machine.

G

If the name of the game is printed on top of the ticket, and an active bar code is printed on the bottom, then technically a lottery ticket was printed. I had a few tickets print after the thermal ink ran out, just skipped to blank tickets. This happened when the Mega Millions was high. Because of the demand, it sounds like the thermal ink was running out, and was skipping, I had it happen to me. I also had a ticket where the ink wasn't completely dry, and transferred a little to the back of the... [ More ]

Yea, the Ohio lotto needs to get it together. Since they have done an upgrade half the self ticket scanners don't work along with these ticket pieces ejecting. I went to a different place today no problems. I'll start going there from now on. Also, no more little pencils for the bet cards. I have to remember to bring my own pen ( ink only to be used on bet cards).

Don't have the time to research and find it, but I a few years ago the Ohio Lottery paid out a jackpot on a damaged ticket with just the bar code visible. Sort of doubt anyone will go dumpster diving looking for a bar code.

You should bring any irregularity to the attention of the Ohio Lottery. They're the only ones who can tell you for sure if it's normal or if it's recorded as a separate ticket with the same numbers. If that's normal, it's certainly wasteful.

I live in Ohio I've had three different machines at different locations spit out just a bar code and header prior to printing full ticket this past week. The clerk throughs that piece away. I asked the teller if it's a duplicate she says no I don't think so but not real sure. I'm just wondering if this has happened to others. If somebody won a jackpot would there be another winning ticket in the system but gone in the trash taking away half our jackpot.
