Well since nobody else weighed in, lets assume big meant between 1 Million and 1 Billion South African Euros.

If you had that much money, then you could easily create your on TV show. And it does not have to be necessaryily about lottery. It could be about your favorite hobby of digging in the dirt to collect worms.

Or you could fund the new and expanded Lottery Post News interview for skilled players!

A fool and his money are easily departed.

Apparently lots of people watch How the lottery changed my life and My Lottery Dream Home , but if no jackpot winners are going on these shows as the consensus here seems to be, there is no show.

And to answer the question, nope I wouldn't go on these shows, but the only times I even noticed these show is they came on after Fixer Upper .

If I were to hit big I would get Roth ira's. There are things I would do as getting a couple of people together and getting e-commerce going. A lot of my relatives just don't see what I would do. Anyone that I know is serious and wants to do drop shipping I would talk with people.

I think nearly all reality shows are scripted.

I've never understood the appeal of the vast majority of reality tv shows, but I've noticed that the credits for them list writers and directors.

then they show off 3 houses for them to choose.

I like to discover which home has already been purchased by the winners. Sometimes it is the one home that has clothes inside the closets.

There are a few favorites that I enjoy watching again.

The Lottery Changed My Life videos reveal a lot about American Society and how past winners have been treated. No winner would want to flash their cash in public. This is a shame.

JMHO, but I think nearly all reality shows are scripted. There might be a few, such as Deadliest Catch that aren't, but the drama between those on the show often is. Pawn Stars is, ditto for Storage Wars, so was Little People, Big World. Even though I watched and liked them for the most part, the survivalist ones certainly are.

I loved the lottery changed my life shows. But that home show with lottery winners is faked. I just did not care for the couple of episodes I watched. The winners have already decided on a home and purchased it so they visit other homes for sale to make it look like a real house hunt is occuring.

There is a Lottery Show IIRC where people go on it AFTER the money is mostly spent and show what they did with it. I remember a a naive Lottery Winner saying something like, My Husband and I were just friends until soon after I won The Lottery. He suddenly realized how much he loved me and we soon dated and then he proposed, I said yes, and now we're married! Wow! Isn t that show where a tv designer or real estate guy looks for houses for people that won a jackpot and then they show off 3 houses for them to choose. I assumed he meant if you could trade a loss of anonymity for the prize being tax-free; that $37 million will be the (approx.*)total federal tax owed on a hundred million cash prize. This tax year 2019, the top rate is 37 percent for individual single taxpayers with incomes greater than $510,300 ($612,350 for married couples filing jointly). I believe it will be the same for 2020.

A BIG No! Why you ask? Well, if you won say $200Mil, stayed anonymous somehow * heaven forbid, blew through that amount left nothing for your kids or grandkids, only you those close to you would know. A private loss so to speak.

However ,exposing yourself to the world losing your wealth could take a toll on your physical mental health since you found it necessary to crow about your financial status. Some have committed suicide due to shame as they call it.

So once again, no thanks

I guess they do, Stack. I've never seen the appeal of that type of show, but to each their own. I did enjoy- for the most part- The Lottery Changed My Life but that was for the human interest element, esp. the good and reasonable things they did with their fortune. I did not enjoy the segments on those who had their lives made miserable by winning the lottery...but in most of those cases, it was from their own poor judgement, so even those were object lessons for myself just in case I ever DO wi... I live in KY horse country so every day I see lots of multi-million homes and farms and some owners are celebrities. Over 20 years ago there was a TV show called Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous , but it was mostly about famous people. Do people really want to watch stories about unknown people that won a lottery jackpot or see where their favorite rock star, movie star, basketball or any sports player, or fill in the blank lives

I was discussing with my wife while watching my lottery dream home if we would go on that show if we were to win big. We really like the show. I think it would be fun but risky outing ourselves to neighbors and the world. Maybe that's why they so few big winners on there. Most folks are 1 million dollar scratch off winners. So about 600k after taxes.
