A poll out from Monmouth University asked Americans what they think are the most corrupt states. Overall, there was not much of a consensus, but New York rose to the top (with just 12 percent), followed by California, Illinois, New Jersey and Texas.

I've read it was much safer there back then. I was really talking about the corruption, but all I have to go by is from watching The Godfather II . grin I do wonder how many bodies have been buried off in the desert. I don't really understand what point you're making, unless it's to point out corruption in Nevada. I thought that was a given, but isn't it better since the mob was ousted? I dunno, never been there, don't know much about the state so I will defer to you.

In 2015 a guy from Iraq won the state lottery game in Oregon for $6.4mil. from buy a ticket through an online reseller or whatever they are. An exception was made, for him specifically, to remain anonymous because he claimed he feared for his families safety in Iraq if it was found out there.

Here's another example of government transparency (this pertains to the United States of Nevada , so called because it's known to make some of their own rules and ignore others).

As casinos were opening up on the rivers and Indian reservations people applying for those jobs still had to get a work card from the state they were going to.

I don't think most people would shell out a couple extra dollars for the right to be anonymous; most people won't pay the extra buck for the chance to multiply a lower tier prize. (about 25% of all winners, according to random checks I've done of winners on the Texas Lottery website) I personally wouldn't pay more than a quarter for that option.

I still believe in transparency in all things to do with the govt. and that includes the lottery, but I do think there are ways to insure that and... [ More ]

If the games were the same price I'm sure they anonymous would win out, I'm thinki9ng even forking over a few more bucks to remain anonymous would win out........until some reprobate won a jackpot and said, If I knew I could have paid a few more bucks to remain anonymous I would've done it but nobody told me about it

In Texas we can claim anonymously on jackpots of 1 million or more. On TLC's website, you can click on a link that has a little story about jackpot winners (scratchoff and online winners) and each story that I have seen says the winner chose to claim anonymously.

Unfortunately, not all states allow anonymous claims. Having said that, I wouldn't be all that afraid of my name being out there if I couldn't claim anonymously. I think most people that have had trouble was because of being stupid,... [ More ]

Do they cost the same? I think people might pay a little more for anonymity, but who knows? As your hypothetical situation stands, however, it's like being offered a cherry on top of your ice cream sundae - if it doesn't cost extra, why not? See which one gets played more.
