American Pickers, Bar Rescue, Airplane Repo, Gas Monkey Garage, Fantom Works. All fake scripted crap.

The networks don't have to pay SAG rates for reality shows.

I liked the channel so much better when the VJ's actually played music videos and concerts.

Some of the people coming into the Pawn Shop on Pawn Stars are friends or acquaintances of the shop owners and the things they bring into to pawn aren't even theirs.

I think something mostly real could be called fake because if it's misrepresenting even a small part of itself to be something it's not, then it's fake. That's along the lines of being a little bit pregnant .

I don't know too much about either of those shows you listed, don't remember watching much of Big Brother that I can recall, but I did watch a few episodes of Survivor when it first hit the airwaves and thinking from the get-go it was fake. I never saw any of the crew on the overhead... [ More ]

TruTV is well known for fake reality shows. They like to call them 'actuality now, because they have been found out.

I think the game show ones are mostly real like Big Brother and Survivor. Airplane Repo on Discovery looks majorly fake when you think about it. One of my favorite ones Dangerous Grounds I think is real in that Todd is really going to those countries to buy coffee for his clients though I think the problems they run into are fabricated though it does look real as it's just one camera guy following him.
