This guy https://www.panouseslaw.com/ recommends a claiming trust. The trust would claim, the attorney would be listed as the beneficiary and then the trust would immediately be shut down and the winnings transferred to another Trust, LLC, or whatever you want. Sounds easy and anonymous.

Just remember DO NOT SIGN THE TICKET as that would make this impossible.

Remember if you are in a non anonymous state, (assuming trusts or LLCs are off the table), your attorney cannot simply claim for you. You=your attorney. Lottolucy mentioned a while back that she spoke to someone at the Ohio lottery who referenced using blind trusts. I still think these non legal lottery people do not realize that any trust should suffice. I do not recall a reference to a blind trust in my research on all the states.

A blind trust is a type of irrevocable living trust in which the trustee has full authority to invest trust assets, and the trust beneficiary has no right to know what property is owned by the trust.

Even for anonymity, I wouldn't give up control of a 401K much less millions from lottery winners. Blind trusts are not for everyone.

I guess there's a chance of being cheated in nearly every legal move you make in life. There are lawyers who specialize in handling lottery winner's publicity and money, so maybe they're worth the fees they charge. An online search can point you in the right direction and a few LP members have left links to some in previous threads and maybe they'll share them again.

I'd just try to steer clear of any counselor who hangs up a shingle that says something like: Law Office and Bait Shop of U.... [ More ]

If someone wishes to remain anonymous to claim their lottery winning, however they then hire a lawyer to make a blind trust is it possible the lawyer can cheat the winner out of their winnings. If so is there a way not to be cheated if it goes into a blind trust? I wouldn t want anyone to be in control my the money I would win.
