People have won on twist and or tag, more have won on the tag. Which has a top prize of $100,000.

Elizabth03, I looked at TAG and Twist on the Atlantic Lotto website. In my opinion they both have garbage returns vs. odds and are gimmicks, so personally I wouldn't play them.

Orange71, the Lotto Max, is Tuesday and Friday evenings, and the cost is $ 5.00 to play if a person adds the twist, that is an extra $1.00, and if the person also wants the tag, that is another $1.00. So it can get expensive.

I usually pick my own numbers or get an insta pick, -which would be a quick pick, from the clerk.

Elizabeth03, the most logical way to pick numbers is to have a random number generator do it for you. If you're only buying a few tickets, have the RNG avoid repeating numbers across lines because this could mean you have duplicate combinations. Avoiding duplications means you maximize the chances of hitting a winning combination because all your combinations are unique and additive towards your total probabilities. For the Lotto Max you could do up to 7 lines this way since there are 7 numbers... [ More ]

Orange71, yes the lotto max can be stressful. i think they should pay a person more when they win any prize. But the lottery corporation is greedy.I always debate whether it is worth it buying a ticket.

I am on a limited budget and can only afford to buy one or two tickets, they are $5.00 each for lotto max draw. I have no clue what line to pick to play?

I see there are repeat balls across lines. Through a Google search I saw an image of a printed ticket where 3 numbers from the first line were repeated on one of the two computer generated lines. So it appears all lines are sampled independently from the full pool of lotto balls. That being the case, the posted odds for Lotto Max on Canadian provincial/regional lotto sites are wrong because they assume adding the probabilities from each line. I will reply it is late at night and i am tired so will do my best, I buy the lotto max every week and i will let the machine choose the numbers or i pick numbers myself and fill out a slip. Have not have much success thus far with the lottery.
