Lottery customer service is giving everyone the same boilerplate response to suggestions to bring back all the game information that was removed.

I don't know what's sadder, that the lottery thinks the average scratchers player is too stupid to research scratchers before buying, or that the average scratchers player may actually be too dumb to research them, lol.

At least the financial reports are still on the new site. I'm very curious how the redesign will affect sales of scratchers.... [ More ]

They're dragging their feet on their new website, no doubt.

Have E-Mailed them, without any response or update to the

CAlottery site.

The winning Powerball ticket was sold at Gold Ranch Lottery in Floriston, CA. To look up this info, you click on Menu on the upper right side and it shows all the draw games. I miss the old website--why fix what isn't broken

Does anyone know which California city the jackpot winning Powerball ticket was sold for last night's drawing?

The old CALottery website used to disclose the name of the store that sold the winning ticket and it's address but the new CALottery website gives zero info.

I'm not sure why this information is no longer readily available. It even says in CALottery's own winner's handbook page 1:

The name and location of the retailer who sold you the winning ticket, the date

I got the same canned response too. They essentially told me the changes were to better serve mobile users and the visually impaired who use screen reading tech. How does removing most of the prize information about scratchers help blind people, or anyone for that matter?

I see they now included the overall odds of winning a prize for each ticket, but some prizes are just a free ticket. The old website listed both the overall odds and the cash prize odds which are more relevant to a typical p... [ More ]

GO on twitter and let them know your displeasure.

I also emailed my local news teams about this. ABC 7 and NBC Bay Area have their own investigative departments. I'm sure all local news affiliates have one. If you don't tell them they won't know.

Alva Vernon Johnson has a twitter account. I let him know my displeasure in a professional way.

I emailed Cal Lotto and they claim over time the old features will be back like the tiered winnings for scracther tickets. But, i'm not holding my breath.

Looks like the CA lottery is trying a new tactic to make a little more money off people: withhold information. So far the missing items that I've noticed are

no downloadable csv for Daily 3, Daily 4, Daily Derby, Fantasy 5, Superlotto Plus, Mega Millions, or Powerball results no results for drawings that occurred more than 200 draws ago for any draw game no list of prize levels for each scratcher and no overall odds (now you can only find out by purchasing a scratcher first and reading the b... I will especially enjoy using the check-a-ticket on my cell phone after a major win. I check both the bar code as well as the new computer scan.

I do not play scratchers unless they are a gift.
