No matter how we got there the point remains the same; we now have fiat currency which is much weaker and more tenuous than gold backed currency ever could be.

At any rate, the clock can't be turned back at this point. Currency is going digital which will make it more illusory and malleable by the powers that be. This isn't a conspiracy theory, it's a simple fact of reality.

Gold standard was taken off because the world caught US gov on cheating...During Vietnam war gov printed way way more dollars than they had in gold which was violating Bretton woods agreement...Then France brought the dollars and said give us our gold and Nixon realized the game was up and had no option but to go off the gold standard

The value of the dollar has been falling for decades ever since it was taken off the Gold standard. Remember the insane interest rates of the late 70s to early 80s? That was directly due to making the dollar fully fiat currency.

We have the same issue today with the difference being that interest rates are kept artificially low which only prolongs and worsens the situation. Yay for us.

What I mean is no matter what they do we will have a deficit. It's complicated but things like unfunded programs with Social Security, they exclude things like Social Security obligations. The government's financial obligations are increasing no matter what. Look at Enron for example, the government uses those same kinds of techniques. I'm by no means an expert. It's just something I was looking at recently.
