Six doubles in a row has a probability of (0.27)^6 = 0.00038742048, equivalent to 0.0387% or odds of about 1 in 2581.

Here's the formula to work it out in general: If an event has a probability P (expressed as a decimal) then the probability that event happens N times in a row is P^N.

Thanks Steve. That's a good way to help us wrap our brains around this really rare pick-3 event.

This DOUBLES EVENT should pop up again every 11.22 YEARS.

Only 22.44 YEARS on the second example.

A lot more rare than we might think.

Notice it couldn't pull off 7 draws like that in a row. Tonight's 7th draw 321 Whew! That was close. Maybe.

Ya gotta think like the lottery. They expect everyone is thinking, singles gotta hit after this, right? So they're gonna mess with y'all and do another double. Stick with the doubles, they're hot.

Never seen an elephant fly or 6 doubles in a row either. Ga Evening just had their 6th double in a row.

What are the odds of that 27% group hitting 6 times in a row?

How about 7 in a row for tomorrow night's draw? Think it's safe to play only singles then?
