For WI:

Every Thursday 10 winners are drawn + Each of the 10 winners receives $1,000

Per WI Lotto on average they get 50,000 mail in entry's per draw.

so if that's the case ....

50,000 x 00.55 cent stamp = $27,500 spent on postal alone??

Of course they shut it down due to COVID.

You would think they would get it online.

Postal mail? That's nuts. The few good things about the CA lottery 2nd chance are how easy it is to enter, and the fact that you can enter any SLP or Fantasy 5 tickets, not just the losing ones. Scratchers 2nd chance only takes losing tickets. But it's as much of a long shot as the actual game, for instance, scratchers 2nd chance drawings gets tens of millions of entries per week for only 32 prizes.

I wish WI was like CA - in WI you have to mail in your entries and its 1 entry per letter.

So its a cost of a stamp + envelope for just 1 entry - I wish they had it online then I would do it.

As I suggested the last time you brought up the topic of CALottery shenanigans, why don't you comb through the winner location data and get the actual numbers? When I skim it to get a general impression, as you have done, I get the impression the LA area is overrepresented, not the Bay Area. We have subconscious biases that affect our impressions. Maybe both areas are overrepresented because we are forgetting the significant commuter population. Or maybe 2nd chance really is rigged. Or maybe the... [ More ]

I haven't been paying much attention to the Cali Lotto 2nd chance winners lately but with a lot of time on my hands I decided to check out the scratchers winners and noticed that a lot of them were once again going to the SF/Sac area so I decided to check out the winners from the SLP 2nd chance. WOW! Out of the last 2 draws, 8 of the 10 have been from the SanFran/Sacramento area. This seemed to stop for awhile but it looks like they are back to it. This reminds of once when I was playing Acey Du... [ More ]
