Of course not, but to make the 7 line 28 number wheel to cover all 49 numbers the wheeling software setup would be the same as making a 28/49 wheel (49,28,6,28)=7 once done as you displayed, each 28# line would be wheeled as a (28,6,3,6)=41. The question is how the 7 lines were made, is there a software or a math workout?

Considering 7x41=287 CoverMaster would come pretty close making a (49,6,3,6) wheel in 287 lines, though a group with a budget that could wheel for higher prizes and bett... [ More ]

As I said, those 28 number wheels would consist of Pick-6 lines, it's not a Pick-28 game.

How did you get LottoDesignerXL working? Are you having to run excel97 and backdating your computer to be within it's limited use time period?

Yes, no problem for CoverMaster to make 28 number wheels for Pick-6 games. The question is how they made the 28 number lines for a Pick-28 game?

Yes I understand, it is like my overall wheel made up of 12 number wheels. Though a lot is dependent on the quality of the 28 number wheel, most would play with a 3# guarantee, so even if all six land among one or multiple lines have all six there is a lot of luck involved in moving up to a higher tier prize.

Can you tell us the software that was used to make the safety net.

Covermaster can do it, for those who want to try it. You can get a 3/6 guarantee with 41 lines, or a 90% chance for a 3/6 win with 16 lines.

You can make these wheels with LottoDesignerXL.xls but the maximum wheel size is 24 numbers.

Each of these are a 28 number wheel for Pick-6. Those seven 28 number wheels are together the safety net.

To the best of my knowledge we haven't a software currently

that can make such wheels with in this case 28 numbers per

line. Used to be one called Lotto Designer but it died with

Win98 excel. Would love to see something replace it that isn't

just raw code, i.e. a compiled finished software. When you

A wheel or covering design is a net woven of numbers to catch a prize.

When the net is fragmented into a collection of smaller nets we actually now have two obstacles to overcome. One to get all the winning numbers on only one net. The other to get all the winning numbers on one line.

I wasn't sure what word I should use. In Germany the word is Fangnetze which is translated to safety nets on Google Translate.

The size of the wheels used is from 18 to 36 numbers.

One large wheel is very expensive. Using several smaller wheels to cover most situations is cheaper. The fangnetze created by German system developers catch 5 out of 6 numbers on system level in everything from 45% to 90% in a 6/45-6/49 lotto.

Safety nets for lotto is not to my knowledge a term in common use by lotto players. It doesn't come up here on LP and haven't come across it myself.

In wheeling, using smaller cheaper wheels in series or laying them like bricks, etc. is not helpful. When for example we break our number field into three groups, the most likely outcome is 2 of the 6 winning numbers falling into each group, useless. Two groups, 3 and 3 and so on.

Anyone know about any source for information about creating safety nets for lotto?

Safety nets are usually used for trying to catch all numbers drawn in one of several wheels together covering all numbers.
