Hey BT3100, yes FL posts odds for every scratch off game, including lower prize levels. The posted info, however, is static, meaning it's not updated to reflect claimed prizes and such (though they do report how many prizes at each level are remaining).

Does Florida post overall odds?

In PA I look at the overall odds which are posted on PA lottery website. For example a $10 game may have 5 Jackpots at $500k. Looking at the odds chart the odds of winning $500k are 1 in 1, 000,000.

If there are 5 top prizes there are 5 million total tickets.

Florida uses Scientific Games...latest contract renewal was last year, but here in FL the book count discrepancies are noted as well. At least here the FL Lotto publishes odds and number of prizes at each level. Both the website and app show remaining prizes as well.

My biggest beef is the apparent lack of updates to remaining prizes for destroyed/lost books, and I've yet to get a winning ticket #...they advertise an open govt atmosphere but then easy cloak info in Info not avail due to secur... [ More ]

Michigan has weird book numbers also.

Either the overall odds are higher than what is printed on the tickets or Michigan skips book numbers.

Example...

over all odds 1 in 4 with total number of winners at 2,000,000 then you would assume 8,000,000 tickets are printed.

If there are 100 tix per pack(book) that would be 8,000,000 tix divided by 100 tix/pack(book) or 80,000 packs(books).

Why then are there pack numbers higher than what the overall odds would indicate for... [ More ]

In addition to Gatorsroc good info about book #s being skipped also be on the lookout for game reorders, which will of course result in more books than announced in the initial game rule. This doesn't apply to the $30 GRC (hasn't appeared to be reordered) but does with some games, like a recent 50% reorder on the $20 Luck ticket.

The Florida lottery does not necessarily print the tickets in sequential order. They skip certain numbers. If a game has 1 million tickets, the serial number on the back of the tickets end at 1.3 million because 300,000 serial numbers (i.e., 001, 002, 004, 005, 007, 010...) were skipped in the book sequence. I dont know why they do this, probably for security reasons. Therefore, the back of the ticket only gives you a rough estimate of where you are in the ticket print.

Hello, I am attempting to see if anyone has more knowledge on the total number of scratch offs per game in Florida specifically. I recently did not some research and for example, I found a document from the state of Florida that indicated game #1415 $30 Gold Rush was comprised of 324 pools of 120,000 tickets. The simple math would indicate that would equal 38,880,000 total tickets. However, I recently played that game and the ticket number on back of the ticket was 1340120 multiplied by 30 ticke... [ More ]
