I don't like the increase because I don't spend a lot. If the jackpots were twice as big I wouldn't mind paying twice the price, but that don't seem to be the case.

There is a concept called inflation

The Michigan lottery started in 1972. According to the inflation calculator 1 1972 dollar is worth 6 dollars in 2019.

It wouldn't bother me to pay $6 for a ticket as long as the prize was $6,000,000 and the odds were the same (it was $1 Mil here in 1972).

According to the same calculator a 1996 dollar (when Mega Mill started ) was worth $3.26 in 2019.

$2 isn't much to be up in arms about. My local Casino has $2 Minimum Roulette and the most you win is $76 on a $2 bet.... Trust me, the chance to win a Minimum 1 Million in Lotto is WAY better than $76.

No most of the time our lotto is under 10 million. Maybe larger jackpots are what they're after at $2. But I haven't seen it.

I agree an extra $1 is not a deal breaker. I used to always add on the Xtra feature for a buck. Now I add on EzMatch or Double Play (not both) on each of my lottox tickets. Ticket cost comes to $3. On the other hand jackpot increases should be at minimum +1M after each rollover. We don't always see a million dollar jump .

Florida Lotto went from $1 Minimum to a mandatory $2 Minimum. Some Lottery Post Posters were up in arms about the $1 increase. They got mad that the $1 choice for Florida Lotto suddenly was taken away. It's not REALLY all THAT bad.... I used to play $3 for a Ez Match and Xtra added on. Now, it's $4 for a Double Play, Multiplier, and EZ Match. A $1 increase isn't the Boycott this game, grounds some Lottery Post Posters think it is.
