One of the things you can tell from the above lists is the furthest apart the trips have fallen (since Virginia started drawing two-a-day) is 251 days. That's a long time! This is why I like my strategy of chasing trips only on certain days after we have already gotten a trip. I know that's where we have found trips in the past and it keeps me form wasting giant amounts of money chasing cold trips.

So here is the final product, the list that shows how many draw days apart trips fall. In my mind, it's more exciting to find a number of days apart where trips have fallen many times in the past, so I have reverse-sorted this list so that the most exciting examples are at the top. Check it out, trips like to fall 2 days, 10 days and 31 days apart! Why is this so exciting? Because now I don't have to waste money chasing trips every day. Now I sort that list so I see if there is a pattern (e.g. do they always fall 10 days apart?) See where I'm headed with this?

Now I take that list of draw dates in the left hand column, throw it in a spreadsheet, and then subtract each number from the next number to get the number of draw-days between trips. And here is that list:

I like to see other folks looking at this stuff because I'm sort of set in my ways. For example, when I look at this list, I see something very different from what you are looking at. What I see looks like this. I've just added line numbers from the original list of draw days so that I can subtract and find out how many days apart trips fell.

In the Virginia thread, we were examining the list of all trips which had ever fallen. There were a couple errors in the list, so I corrected those and brought that here to start this thread. The rest of this thread walks you through the workup that I do with trips and shows how I play them and why.
