Hi Mr. B,

I'm not a programmer. But that similar to the chart you showed in a previous post. I think i've found the work around with the my data. i just have to take a few extra steps. As my mother always say The lazy man always work the hardest! . Since i'm not willing to buckle down and properly learn a programming language, then I have to work harder to get my end result. (unless you've already shared your program on the post and i've missed it

I don't know how large your data file is, but you should have no problem creating your utility. My PC has 8GB memory and I have no problem displaying the various combo counts for our current 5858 drawings. I should have no problem going on for another 5000+ drawings.

Including all 575757 combos for a 5/39 game, I'll use 673 MB while compiling the data, and end up at 61 MB use after displaying the data.

Choose the right tool (programming language) for the job and you should be good to go.... [ More ]

Thanks for the offer but I think I found a work around to get the data i needed. As previously mentioned just have to work in smaller batches.

Its funny you posted, a previous post of yours sparked the idea. So im trying to eliminated all combinations that have played out of the initial combinations. For each set of 2 through 5. This is for a jackpot game 5/38.

HI,

No i don't know any programming really. I love to think I can manipulate some basic scripts to perform my tasks. I can download python. i would be happy to see the script. i usually google and youtube my way through vba, along with the help i've gotten here on the board. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you know how to program in Python? If so and you have it installed, I can show you some simple scripts to run in the command prompt to perform the kind of searches you're doing.

Definitely a problem when dealing with large data files. Mostly an engineering problem that software people work around. The easiest solution is to use a larger computer with more RAM. But even that may not solve your problem.

Data files are generally separated by a line break which every programming language will understand as reading one line at a time. Typically that is how big data files are processed.

I know there are a lot of programs and tools that are here on the site and that are offered in the chat. I'm looking for ones that can handle large amount of data for jackpot games (i load the total amount of combinations for a game like 5/39). The ones that I've come across usually crashes when i load the data in. If anyone knows a program or a script it would be greatly appreciated.
