Mega Millions is double what powerball is so naturally mega gets the lions share of money put down for tickets. $515 million is a heck of alot more than powerball's jackpot.-weshar75

A few months back they were both won the same week, and they stayed neck and neck for quite a while. But eventually, Megamillions started outpacing Powerball. No idea why.

I can only guess but MM was already at a higher jackpot so more or most people are buying MM tix and not buying PB tix.

The Mega Millions jackpot from Tuesday 5/18/21 was $475 mil (cash value $319.4). No one won that jackpot so it rolled up to $515 mil (cash value $346.3 mil). This represents an increase of $40 mil and $26.9 mil cash value.

The Powerball jackpot from Wednesday 5/19/21 was $202.3 mil (cash value $138.3). No one won that jackpot so it rolled up to $218 mil (cash value $149 mil). This represents an increase of $15.7 mil and $10.7 mil cash value.
