You're doin the next best thing.. Expose'em..!! here on LP.. when they see nobody's using them they'll either fix it or lose tons of Money..I've seen'em here, but would never use one.. Hell, I barely trust live Attendants, ..no way I'd put THAT kinda cAsH in a machine... for the very reasons that happened to you...paper running out.. tickets running out, or gettin hung up in the machine.. can't give you correct change from certain bill denominations..

I have gone to in-store lottery machine and found a receipt in dispenser that stated take to retailer. It was money lost by last player from machine malfunction.

One time NC had a second chance ticket print out that didn't print.

NC mailed me my second chance ticket!

Now that is quite commendable!

Rite Aid took all the lottery machines out of their stores in my area. I wonder if this is why? Is there still a machine in the store you lost your money at

I was once burned by a Virginia lottery machine, the previous vintage. The machine failed after I put my cash in, then eventually printed a slip saying I should immediately get my money back from the store. The store didn't have the cash. I thought the slip would be redeemable at another store, so I tried another store where they had a full lottery setup and they accused me of fraud. If you think I was unhappy... Anyway, I lost that money and didn't play lottery for a while. Now I never put more... [ More ]

Thanks for the warning. Do you have photos of the blank tickets? You could contact WAVY or another local news outlet in your area. It might be that the same has happened to other folks.

I find it very idiotic that the VA Lottery is willing to reimburse you for $56 but not $60.

Beware of VA lottery scam!! Virginia lottery vending machine is printing out blank lottery slip and taking your money. Both Right Aid and Virginia lottery refused to give me a refund. It s been over 2 months with no refund. I sent a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, Federal Trade Commission and the Virginia Attorney General Consumer Protection. I m waiting to see what s going to happen.
