Well, about People begging Lottery Winners for money, a 50 year old man was dragged and ragged on for begging the 20 year old Lottery Winner for money. The 50 year old man wrote something like, Congratulations on your Multi Million dollar Lottery Win. I have Cancer and REALLY need money for Cancer Treatment. I would REALLY appreciate it if you could open your heart to me and bless me with some of the money you were blessed with so that I can pay for my Cancer Treatments. God bless you! Disgusted... Every state lottery has some type of disclaimer saying by signing the back of ticket, winners are agreeing to their lottery rules and regulations. So it's really simple, if they don't like the rules, don't play.

Maybe this comes as a huge surprise, but people who end up in the witness protection program usually haven't done a press conference right before they disappear, and the number of people who would recognize them is fairly small. Personally I don't care. Much ado about nothing. Being in Texas I don't have to reveal personal info IF I win a jackpot. That's a BIG if.

Also, I have no problem saying no to people. I am comfortable choosing charities of my liking.

I do think that past winners that got into trouble after winning is because of their own doing, ie: being stupid and doing stupid things, like not keeping their mouth shut, showing off money, spending like drunken sailors, etc.

ACTUALLY, a pre agreement would be most likely in my scenario I am thinking of. The Lottery Officials and the Lottery Winner(s) plan to do the forced Press Conference, and the Lottery Winner is immediately whisked to the undisclosed Location for their Protection.

I just don't get WHY they don't allow the Lottery Winners to collect the money in private. The Winner's ticket matched all 6 numbers, give them their money in private and allow them to live their lives without being targets for that money. At least just release their name with no pictures and the State they live in. They'd say if you don't feel safe winning the lottery, don't play.

Or point out its a state law, not something they have any control over.

Or raise ticket prices to pay for the program.

Easiest thing to do, like someone mentioned in the other thread, is get out of Dodge quick!

Or go to court like our billionaire and show the numerous bad things that have happened by revealing your identity and use that case as a precedence.
