Euromillions started with 5/50*2/9 and 2 euros for 1 combination. 2 euros was the price of an espresso (not in a papercup, but served and with a spoon etc). I played lotto, two lines for one euro. I found it to expensive to play and generally find that prices are rather driven high. Playing Euromillions is only possible for people with a higher income. From the moment they change the powerball from a dollar I stopped playing, I felt it was better to stick with $1 ticket games as the odds were a bit more in your favor and easier to win. Giving up a dollar for bigger odds of winning didn't make sense to me, even when they paid higher jackpots.

I personally worry that in the near Future, Powerball and Lotto will be a Mandatory $5 for a base game. I remember when Florida Lotto jumped up to a Mandatory $2 for a base, Lottery Post Members were saying they wanted to Boycott Lotto. I said something like, It's only one extra dollar. If it was $5 for a base game, then I could see the Boycott Florida Lotto! Feeling. But nowadays, it does seem that a $5 base is coming in the near Future....

All of those extras are fine with me as long as they're optional. If someone wants to spend $5 on one line, give them the opportunity to do it.

Powerball is now $4 for Base, Double Play, and the Extra choice. If they add EZ Match, it will be $5 a ticket! O.O I remember when Powerball was only a dollar! O.O Lotto isn't too far behind with it also being $4, but it could turn into a $5 if they decide a Mandatory 2 line Lotto. I remember when Lotto was only a dollar too.
