I believe it rigged, especially since everything is done by computer (despite what we've been told) my theory is that I pick 1234 the system then realize that too many people have picked that number 1234 and then change it to something that will payout less money like 0123 . The consumer would never know since there is a cut off as to what time you can put in your numbers, more then enough time to estimate odds and winnings. That's just my take on it

Did you know that box combo 239 skipped for 2181 draws from 02/20/2010 until 02/17/2016 in New Jersey Midday. If you lived at 239 Sycamore Street you would have lost big time during that period.

Maybe it actually keeps someone from rigging their machines if they know what and when a jackpot is suppose to happen. History shows that draws that have been rigged were rigged by individuals benefiting themselves, not the lottery agencies.

The fact is, state lotteries want people to win. Why? It's good for business. If nobody ever won, why bother buying a ticket. The money paid for lottery wins is provided by ticket sales.

Lotteries don't have to rig draws, the odds and payouts of the games are another reason why.

Deep fakes are definitely a possibility. Are they likely though? Are they necessary? Every lottery has a liability limit that keeps them from going broke, and if they wanted to manipulate the distribution or frequency of winners because the marketing dept said it would increase sales, they could do it much cheaper just by changing the matrix.

Since the triple six fix and the Tipton scandal, most lotteries have increased security and involved more people to witness various steps of the process. If anything, I'd think there's less chance of rigging, at least in your basic draw games. You'd need the cooperation of many more people to mess with the balls or reprogram the prng.

I agree, always said if enough people have the correct number, the system identifies that and the numbers are changed.

When you purchase your tickets it's placed into a computer system, which means the information is recorded, once recorded now I can Manipulate the information. Hence the cut off times for most lotteries.

I agree. I dont think they are rigging the lottery but at the same time they dont make it easy either. I think if it were rigged some numbers would not come out more often than others. Kinda of like looking at a root sums or sums last digit.frequency count. Its pretty much flat meaning the frequency count for each sum are not that different from all the other numbers. I mostly play Florida's version of Pick 5 - Fanatsy5. Since July 16, 2001, in almost 7,400 drawings, there have been 62 drawings where the same set of five winning numbers was drawn for a second time. It just happened in Fantsy5 for the 62nd time on September 24th.

I also believe that such folks really have no concept of the odds of jackpot games, especially MM and PB.

There are 100 possible front pair outcomes on pick-3 games, but $1 bet on the winning outcome pays $50. I'm pretty sure that 100 to 1 is about the best odds players can expect to get out of any lottery game and that ought to be enough to understand the payoffs are rigged against the players.

There are numerous stories of winners who bought the winning ticket days in advance, on their way to work, or on their lunch break. Some just stopped to get gas, or a drink and snacks and bought a ticket on a whim. Some bought tickets on their way home.

I heard people saying another way not to get scamm play your tickets at the last minutes before closing the game for that drawing. This will eventually provide more evidence if the system is rigged. What you actually do by doing this is you short their time to get everything set of balls ready if it's really rigged. As an example, in my state's Pick 4, from 1984 thru today there have been 31 quads. From 1984-1999 there were 7 quads total. 2000-2021 had 24 quads. The only times they drew more than 1 in a year were 2000, 2004, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2017 when they had 2 quads each year. About every third or fourth year. But in 2021, from Jan 20 thru Sept 11 we've had 4.

In Pick 3 you expect to see about 16 doubles in a month on average, with a more or less even split. But when you have one month with 14 of them... [ More ]

I agree that would be 364 misses on 1 number. Double for night and day. I have seen info on drawings, why does the director decide what machine get used after test runs. Maybe they want a certain number to hit to draw interest. No one would play if they didn't hope for coincidence. Will 925 hit today in a state?

Maybe it's pure coincidence. I don't think it's totally rigged.

Never considered it more than coincidence. Like looking at the clock. We can look at the clock a dozen times a day. But we only remember the times we see a meaningful number.

And there were people in NY who played 911 every year, on September 11, expecting it to hit. Some attributed that to some type of cosmic vibe/fluctuation resulting from the number of people thinking about 911 on that day.
