Some time back somebody posted some pictures of a NY terminal. IIRC it was a touch screen and had several options on the screen for QP tickets for various games, along with choices for 1, 5 and 10 lines. I'm assuming there there were other screens for other options.

On the off chance you didn't see it yet, the News forum has an article about new terminals being rolled out in Iowa. I'd think the terminals would allow for new motherboards and software updates, but these are apparently completel... [ More ]

It may be possible. I don't care about it that much because it is quite rare. The vast majority of people just buy one or two, or they will buy a PB, a MM, and a Lotto at one time. The other day my biggest sale was a guy that bought $40 PB. There's 3 buttons on the terminal, a $2 QP, a $10 QP, and a $20 QP. I gave him 2 $20 QP tix.

When I see the manager later this week if we have time I'll ask him.

Seems like an easily foreseeable scenario, doesn't it? Not many people will be buying 50 tickets, but plenty of people buy them as gifts in more modest quantities. Are you positive that the terminal doesn't have a capability to automate the process that you just haven't been shown

The terminal will let the operator print 10 lines on one ticket, which is what I would have done. The customer wanted 50 individual tickets because he was buying tickets for people at work.

What if a person who won a jackpot actually gave an interview where they said they won by using lottery software, Gail Howard books, and calculus to pick their numbers? Would they be a schmucklucker in that case, or would you fume that you were using the wrong combination of math all this time

Wow! It was a good day to be the house on last nights draw!

All those tickets sold and only one second prize winner!

Like I said, nobody wins and it looks like that nobody notices that nobody wins.

I like the old matrix better where at least several tickets would have taken second prize.

It may not be common, but it's easily foreseeable that people might sometimes want to play some particular date(s) in the future, while skipping intervening drawings. I'd imagine it's far more likely for P3 or P4 than a jackpot game where the future prize might be lower, but it's easy enough to implement a software method for selling anything that could possibly be sold. I didn't get the impression that rcbbuckeye didn't know how to print multiple plays on one ticket, but rather the customer insisted on separate tickets. I remember many years ago in DE when they started printing tickets with 5 plays to a ticket, a customer asked for 15 tickets and the clerk printed 3 tickets with 5 plays each and the guy said no, I want separate tickets. The next guy up said I'll take those 3 tickets . You know where this going. That guy had the winning 6/36 lotto numbers on one... [ More ]

Michigan got new Gtech terminals years ago. Just as a joke I asked the cashier for the winning pick 3 evening numbers for a drawing 20 days in the future and I wound up with a pick 3 ticket for that single draw for 20 days in the future for $1 so I know those terminals do lots of stuff that most cashiers never get trained in on.

Well, it's not like anyone involved in designing the terminal or the software would necessarily anticipate anyone buying more than 1 individual ticket. Or maybe you haven't been shown everything the terminal can do.

FWIW, when I was out of state a week ago I got advance plays for both PB and MM. Now that PB has 3 drawings a week the advance play choices on the bet slip don't always let you choose a PB and MM ticket that end at (about) the... [ More ]

I told this on another thread. Saturday a guy came into the little c-store I work at and bought $150 PB tix. But, the kicker is he bought 50 individual tickets, all with the powerplay. I had to stand there and hit that button 50 times. LOL. Wore my finger out...

Will someone win the PB JP tomorrow 9/27 ?

How many years will it be before someone gets the $10,000,000 doubleplay prize? Not all states are in on that one so it may take 18 months or longer before that one gets hit.

BTW 36 rolls is the record for PB and MM rolls so if it rolls again after tomorrow then we have a new record
