Possibilities probabilities...No superstitious nonsense involved.

Someone is going to win.

It's possible it might be you

It's probable it won't be you.

It's therefore probable that it will be someone else.

Meanwhile it's just a couple of bucks if you don't win, you've made someone else's life infinitely better.

I play the lottery because I'd like to be debt free.

I'm not drowning in debt. I'm retired, living in Florida, and I play Florida Fantsy5. Jackpots range from $175,000 to $210,000 before taxes and the odds of winning a jackpot are 376,992 to 1. I have more than enough resources in both my wife's and my 401k to be debt free, but we'd rather leave that money to our adult children. My wife and I live on two monthly pension checks and two Social Security checks.

I enjoy playing. I never expect to win, just look at the odds of any jackpot game. I always hope to win. It's fun to dream a little. In the 1980's I won about $800 on Ohio's Lotto, 5 out 6 numbers. And I've won a few hundred playing All or Nothing here in Texas.

I'm now in my 60's and I hope to win just to pass on money to my kids and grandkids.

I always wonder why people play lottery all their lives then probably finally hitting big later on in life. Is it that we humans know we arent supposed to work like slaves in this messed up capitalistic society ? Is this gambling ? Or is it having faith in God, chance ? I want to know why you play.
