Yep. Back in the day, I had a 300 baud modem (top of the line stuff) to connect to university in Colorado and Texas, or to a BBS. Sometimes it would take 2-3 minutes for one page to load. Then they came out with the lightning speed 1200 and the 2400. And color monitors!

The ads in the Texas Lottery magazine (circa 1994) sometimes filled most of the publication. Steve Player was a prominent advertiser. Always seemed his name was splashed across half the space.

G

Back in the day when very few people had a PC and the people that did used very slow speed dial-up to get Online. Believe the magazine was Lotto World and you're correct BobP was a contributor. Have a few copies in a box somewhere in the attic. Were many systems ads and if I believe some were critiqued by magazine writers.

A friend of mine gave me a copy of Expert Lottery for Windows on a 3 and 1/2 floppy disk he bought from one of those ads.

I think that generally everybody was looking to much at MM and PB, also Euromillions, or other paying many millions. Those websites also have this. Most of the players surviving by good play look for games with better chances to win and better payouts. Generally the commissions are high, eventually those will become less or zero in the future. I don't have budget to play, so I don't even try those websites. They don't propose all games, just a selection. Maybe there are a few good games.

Highly trustworthy or not, it is highly unlikely a gambling site booking its own bets instead of buying real tickets is going to be able to play off wins in the millions let alone hundreds of millions.
