I agree. Biggest hurdle, IMHO, is the 2 in one draw. We can hit the four numbers and still have to hit the second draw to win the jackpot.

Secondary is the number combinations tend to repeat more than we think they should. In Texas I've seen about 390 repeats in total of 10700 plus draws. Four or five have repeated 4 times, a hundred+ 3 times and didn't count the 2s. Most repeat with a different bonus ball. (I've found one in Texas with the same bonus)

I'll call their 92 digit number and raise the 78 digit numbers for each of the possible 25 lines with a five number match. The problem with their 92 digit number it's the total permutations, but the 5/39 result are combinations reducing his big number to just one 39 number combination.

Was looking at a 4/35 + 1/25 game, but starting to think matching all five on a 5/39 might be much easier. Probably making it more complicated than it really is.

I believe they factored 39 (39 times), a permutation or how many different orders of 39 numbers. Lotto type lottery games combinations and in 5/39 games, it's (39*38*37*36*35)/(5*4*3*2*1) or 69,090,840/120.

The reason I mentioned the 25 line 39 number wheel was because I matched all five numbers using a 13 line 15 number wheel. I used an LP wheel and entered the numbers in numerical order. It looks like the total number of possible orders that 39 numbers could be place into a 39 number wheel. But as you pointed out there are 575,787 total five numbered combinations.

Don't recall anyone saying finding correct order to get a five number match using a 25 line 2 if 5 of 39 wheel is easy, but suggesting spending over $15K wheeling 20 numbers to get a 0.027% chance five of those numbers being drawn by comparison makes the former bet look like a sure thing.

As written, you have that many ways to generate 2 if 5 wheels for the given numbers.

The wheel is a template. You replace the pointer numbers and that can happen in that many ways.

A (full) system or full wheel covers all combinations of chosen numbers.

I took for a small pick 6 the drawings of this year until 6 drawings ago, leaving out 5 drawings.

For then next 5 drawings the best 6/6 scoring 15 numbers scored a 5/6 while the top 15 numbers didn't score more than 4/6.

If you take the 20 best numbers of 1 to 39, are those the numbers producing most of the 5/5's or just those that had the highest frequencies? In the GH software the Sums Tracking Chart is used with the wheel to move the numbers around on the wheel's template to average the sum of numbers per line as balanced. One can argue the drawings land more toward the average sums then the outer extremes. Never saw all that much to it myself, some days I'd click the balance key F4 Optimize, others I'd let the wheel load as the numbers landed from the Smart Picks Chart.

Definitely playing all the numbers in the set offers the possibility of hitting a jackpot with any wheel.

But let's say we play ten numbers in 4/35 game. We spend $10 a game over 10730 games.

This is what our book would look like with any of the ten numbers being able to fall in any position in the draw (without hitting the bonus ball).......

The GH and Serotic wheels were fill in the blanks so I put several into the Lottery director program to easily see the results. If you can't find the wheel you want, make one using Covermaster.

Haven't fired up my old XP in years but it has the Lottery Director program with a free wheel generator. It creates full wheels and from there it has several filtering options. Used Covermaster many times too to create wheels that need less than matching all five or six numbers to get a win guarantee. LP has several pick-5 wheels with 2 if 2, 3 if 3, and 3 if 4 guarantees. There are 4 if 4 wheels too but an 8 number wheel creates 20 lines so adding more numbers can get very expensive using that... [ More ]

To me that's not debatable. If you haven't included the 4, 5, 6 numbers drawn in the jackpot, the wheel won't matter.

I think whoever has GH wheels(from wheel books) can convert it to Covermaster format and test the coverage. Then generate one from within covermaster and compare.

Same holds good for any wheel - take it and convert it to covermaster format and check coverage.

Also there are so many wheel available online in wheel repositories.

RL RandomLogic's DMP-MG has covermaster wrapper UI which lets us to load covermaster and use it to generate wheels and use our numbers in DMP-MG - this feature is called as Spokes.

Wheels are only as good as the numbers chosen to wheel.

Techniques or strategies or methods to choose numbers to wheel are the immediate need after one chooses/fixes ticket budget and picks wheel/wheels that fit the budget.

Many prefer full wheels with filters. You can still have key numbers(include only if a key or x =5 keys are present), spread checks, (xy will be in combo and yz won't be combo), gaps, positional keys, etc., A personal filter can do lot more than commercial alternat... [ More ]

Another wheel program is/was lottoarchitect.

As I coded myself, I don't need minimal wheels or filter software.

The wheel is as good as the numbers in it? Well, that also depends of the wheel choice, the coverage and the amount of numbers correct. A local 3/3 with 8 numbers makes you win net the cost of one line. If it is for keno, the guarantee must be very high, then the wheel is too expensive or you need the luck with that.
