I remember a thread a few years back where a buncha members posted pictures of themselves. Maybe someone will resurrect it (I'm too lazy) and those members can all post recent pictures of themselves so we can see how horribly they've aged and make snide remarks about it.

Try Imgur. Google for website. Open membership - free, easy and fast.

Then upload an image. Get the image direct link. Save the link.

In LP enter the link in the appropriate box for displaying images. Done.

Will take only minutes for all these operations.

It's reliable, I've been using it for quite a while.

What I like with Imgur is the ease of use.

The credibility of winning tickets and list of numbers before draws as images, etc., will become questionable if image hosts allow replacing images(same name and manipulated exif image tag copying and using same modified and created time on windows using tools). I hope people have discussed these in past posts.

Nice steps.

In addition to #1, if you are viewing the image, copy the url in the location bar. Usually such links will have your image's extension at the end. E.g., jpg or png or gif or other supported formats.

Make sure it's a web location http or https(e.g., http://imagehostexample.com/notactual/album1/image1.jpg) and not direct file from your computer(e.g., file://mypc/user/a/pictures/lpupload.jpg)that's not yet uploaded to any image hosting site.

Try this.

1) Left click on the photo or whatever you want to post.

2) Right click and then click on Copy image address.

3) Come onto LP, click reply, then click on Insert/edit image.

4) Paste the image address into the Source box. Click OK.

5) The image will show up in blue. Click on the small box in the corner to adjust the size if desired, and drag in direction of the arrow. Click on Post Reply. You're done.

Which feature is not working?

Also is it a link that LP snips or some sort of blocked link?

Best solution in-case if it is user specific or link specific is to use the contact us link and provide more details. LP team would be able to help you out.

For me it works. And at times when imgbb image link didn't work(in my posts), it started showing later - could have been imgbb's server issues.

Standard members: Use an image hosting service and use that link in LP's rich text editor's insert image option's pop-up window link text box.

Gold and Premium members : can directly upload even within rich text editor's insert image option as they get a button to browse image manager/upload.

Nothing has changed. It works exactly as it is mentioned in the help article.

Uploading images and photos is available for paid members.

LP has to manage storage of images and pictures. This would take considerable amount of space on server when free users are allowed to upload. Possibly that's why that feature is not there for free users(image manager).

If people prefer to have permanent storage and permanent availability and be independent of 3rd party image hosting, they might have to continue their membership.

As simple as it can be...

If it was as simple as can be clicking the icon would give you an option to upload an image from your device in addition to the option of supplying a link to an image that's already online.

In addition to being the simplest way to let posters upload images it also wouldn't allow other sites to remove content.

You used to be able to paste straight from Excel and Paint or alike. That stopped. You can also link to imgbb dot com. The img must be somewhere.

You need an external host as a standard user or a premium membership to use LP image link. You have to provide the link in a post. So you have to click on insert image link to provide the image location. Then you can post your blog entry or reply to post.

How else would someone be able to insert an image

You can use image hosting servers like imgbb or others and upload your image and get the link. Then in the rich text editor, use the insert image option and insert the image(use link from image hosting server).
