Never heard of Gugelhupf, didn't know what it was so I Gugeld it (nyuk, nyuk,nyuk) and it looks good but I've never seen one anywhere around these parts.

You might find Stollen in an ethnic bakery in Chicago but watch out your car doesn't get stolen while you're in the bakery up there.

There's no good pizza anywhere in the south that I've ever found.

You have to go way up north to Chicago for a decent one. And it's infested with Democrats up there so you have to deal with all the crime and filth and drugs and high prices and the parking will cost you more than the pizza. I only go up there when I have to. I've never had a homemade pizza that tastes as good as a good Chicago pizza joint makes them up there. I've heard they're 30 to 40 bucks now. Crazy.... [ More ]

This one was exceptional. Soft inside, nicely brown and crusty outside. Good taste.

Shopping food is a problem, the quality or the price sucks.

Soft buns don't cost a thing in production and reach high prices.

A soft butter bun hardly contains butter but is sold at the price of the taste.

Wine is similar.

Today, I found fresh sprouts and carrots without fungus.

I didn't read the book or see the movie but I know all about that stuff.

My old man didn't talk about it much but he limped his whole life after dealing with those evil people and he wasn't too crazy about them afterwards. And the fact that a lot of them are ingrates about it gets my hackles up a little bit.

Wehrmacht was the regular German Army. In the book the Odessa File (the movie version skipped this part) wounded Wehrmacht troops were being off loaded from a hospital ship. The SS (Schutz Stafell, shock troops) knew Germany was about to lose the war and didn't want to be caught in their Waffen SS uniforms so took the Wehermachr soldiers uniforms away from them, shooting some wounded Wehrmacht soldiers to get their uniforms from them.

My old man served on a B-25 Mitchell bombing the hell out of the Nazis over there for those people and limped the rest of his life after taking some Triple-A fragments in the leg doing it. I had an aunt and uncle take a vacation over there in the early 70's and they said them Frenchmen were rude and nasty to Americans.
