It's all in the timing.

Stopped at the local store just in time to check and replay three Keno tickets. As the drawing started I check the new tickets to see if all three were for the next drawing and they were. Played 3, 4, and 5-spots for three drawings and watched 4 of my numbers drawn. And then the last number drawn was the fifth numbers making all three tickets winners.

The Keno writer suggested playing way ticket because I was playing 8 numbers and not cashing when matching three or four numbers. IMO, a 2-spot is more of a backup bet or for a playing a parlay. While matching one of the pairs will cover the entire bet, it's not exactly a life changing win.

Almost every form of gambling is about the timing. There is a news story about a Maryland player buying and winning on 10 straight and 10 box tickets even though he didn't play when his number came out straight just five years ago. Anyone that was at crap table when a hot roll began knew it's all about the timing too.

But the ultimate example of great timing is when Gloria MacKenzie jumped in front of Mindy Crandell in a PB sales line.

Five number patterns are easy to see, but probably more practical to play on Keno games that pay at least $750 and over $800 is even better. Six number patterns appear too, and while the 6-spot Online lottery Keno playoffs are much better, still are 27% less then casino and video Keno payoffs.

Caught a 5-spot today playing the upper right hand corner (9,10,19,20,30). 29 was in the mix too had I played a 6-spot. It's still being in the right place at the right time , but it's fun trying to be there

Another thing that I would do is wait. What I mean is to let about 3 draws passby a make a note of the missing groups making a chart like the one above On the 4th draw place your bets. By then you should have a clearer picture on how the numbers are flowing. Know what I mean

Maybe you should start tracking missing/overdue groups 0's, 1's, 2's, etc. I love playing Keno. Though I know it's really hard to win. It looks easy, doesn't it?

This is my recent strategy. The 0's and1's look ripe for at least 3-4 to drop. Maybe you can try the same for a little while. I really hope you win at least a 5 of 5 for starters. Good Luck

Played up to 7 combos, but that might be the limit so I usually play not more than three. And those bets are usually two 3s and one 5 and use one of the numbers on both 3s. Had some luck playing $2 4-spots.

You're correct four minutes isn't enough change numbers each game so the strategy is to play a combo for three or four drawings.

Oh. Every four minute doesn't give you enough time to analyse in my opinion. I guess if you play you will play the same numbers for a few draws concurrently.

Thanks for your suggestion. Most often than not 3 numbers of the group drops. Sure you get the 4 5 occasionally so wheeling only a specific group would not be beneficial for a 5 spot. Anyway I just started this approach in the New Year. The 5 spot is the way to go. I was so focus on the 10 spot and found it to be a losing battle. New Year New ideas. I do use Power Numbers. If it's a RNG keno game, you will not win the jackpot. You would have to be at the right place and right time playing the same machine for hours. The more numbers you pick, the longer it will take for the machine to finally spit out a 10 of 10. That's why if you play a 2-5 spot your chances are better because the rotation time is shorter. A 2-spot still pays 12 to 1, but most players look at the $50,000 plus Keno payoffs. When I was a rookie I played my 8 favorite numbers trying for the big win without understanding the odds. A Keno writer suggested that I might try making four two number pairs of the 8 numbers and playing a 15-way ticket for a dime a way. To win something most 8-spots require matching 5 numbers, but matching any 2 of won something on the way ticket.

Another thing I'd advise is stay away from 'cold numbers'. They will bleed you dry. Look at which number like to

pair with each other. Look at the history.

Most of the Vegas casinos pay about the same as China's Keno and some of special 5-spots that pay more. It's rare for the four minute Keno I play, to not have at least three repeat numbers and three consecutive numbers.

The best gambling advice I ever got was to either play the streak or not play so if I notice a group is AWOL, I'll ignore it until it hits.

Last two draw from China's Keno. Playing 6 or more spots is wasteful unless you have 'mucho' cash. Each play is 2 RMB.

The 5 spot is the best IMHO.The prize breakdown for us in not '$' is as follows:

5 0f 5-- 1000 RMB

4 of 5-- 21 RMB

3 of 5-- 3 RMB

I've been playing mostly 6,7,8,10 spots and it's been a bust. The prize payout is not worth it. I might play only 2 lines

of 10 of 10 which includes the numbers I play in the 5 spot lines.

Talked about pattern play but didn't give any examples. Unlike lotto games when only five or six numbers are drawn, 20 of the 80 Keno numbers are drawn each game. And because of that we see more consecutive, same last digit, and decade groupings. A 5-spot usually pays around 800 to 1 and easier to see connecting numbers. One of the most common 5-spot connecting numbers strategies is using five consecutive numbers and playing 1 through 5 might be played the most.

Should I play the hot or the cold Keno numbers or maybe a combination of both?

I looks for repeating pairs and trips so I usually play the more frequent numbers. Caught a 5-spot yesterday by simply noticing those number repeating. Pattern play is similar but more difficult to catch because it's noticing certain pattern and not knowing where they will appear.

Patterns on Keno boards are really easy to see especially 5 and 6 spots. Read where some MM, PB, and lotto players put the results on play slips and look for patterns. The big difference is because 20 Keno numbers are drawn we see five or more consecutive numbers and with the same last digit.

Wheels work much better in Keno too.

Found lots of video Keno strategies, but very few drawn Keno game strategies. Most lottery Keno games have $1 minimum and some video games have nickel bets and some games are for pennies. The Four Card Keno strategies can be used for drawn games, but betting $4 every 4 minutes requires a much larger bankroll than 20 or 40 cent video bets.

Our legislation in KY is debating adding sports betting to the Online games. I'd settle for Internet poker.

I play Keno to win something more often so the only time I play anything more than a 5-spot is when I play two 3-spots or a 3-spot and a 4-spot. There are plenty of large jackpot games and no reason to make an fun game complicated.

We have the 10/70 game here in Ontario, Canada which imo is just as hard to win as the 10/80 games and I've seen several threads here in forums on lottery posts alluding to what you've mentioned in your posted remarks.

As a general rule, and since the odds of exact hits are so elusive, any pick category above 5/70 i tend to avoid. Mainly, because of the crazy odds to get all numbers chosen for anything above the 5/70 matrix. At least with the 5/70 category getting 4/5 is not a bad... [ More ]

Players can get $81 hitting a 5-spot for 10 cents on video Keno machines and there are several 4 Card Keno pattern strategies. Many players look for clusters and play four 5-spots in that area. At 40 cents a game, they need one hit every 200 draws to break even. I've hit three 5-spots on the same draw.

Similar strategies can be used with 6 and 7-spots too.

The 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10-spots obviously pay much more for matching all the numbers, but the odds against matching all the numbers is much greater too. Many playing strategies consist of breaking down the large amount of numbers into smaller 4 or 5 number spots. It's similar to lottery players using abbreviated wheels. They look for portions of the board when numbers are clustered together and play that area of the board.
