I'm not 100 percent sure but I think if you win and do not have proper ID. You can go to lottery headquarters and cash it you just pay a higher tax. I think I read that somewhere. Again not 100 percent sure

I miss read what you wrote grwuston sorry.Its been a very long week...... I'll tell you what this has been the best week and worst week of my life. Winning the pick 5 and 4 two days apart was awesome.After that it's been all down hill. I had a small electrical fire in my engine bay of my truck. And last nite I had to take my 10 year old Dobie to the er vet. She passed away due to an enlarged heart . I've always played pick-3 straight combo multiple times on separate tickets even though a store owner once put them all on one ticket and assured me I would not have to pay tax if I won. Didn't want to find out the hard way so I declined to buy that ticket. He mumbled something about wasting paper which was probably the real reason it put them all on one ticket.

Our lottery just discontinued Five Card Cash and I'm hoping they replace it with a Pick-5 game. Might consider using multiple 50 cen... [ More ]

That's what I said. Anything over $600. $601 and up you pay taxes.

From Md lottery web site.

When redeeming a prize on a ticket with a value larger than $600 you must present proof of your social security number and photo ID proof of being at least 18 years of age. Double check your photo ID and Social Security card to ensure your name is exactly the same on both documents as they need to match exactly to claim your winnings.

Not according to the gas station attendant ......Any one ticket over 600 is taxable. Anything below 600 is not.

Thanks guys and gals I looked on the md lottery website everyone posted and figured it out. Great news yesterday as I hit the mid day Pic 4 boxed 10 times. This is amazing I've won twice in 3 days. This has been the most I have won to date.. Hopefully good luck comes in 3s as they say. And I'm honestly think I'm done with scratches. I've never won over 500 playing thouse. Thanks alot again for all the help. And good luck to all

Yes I've noticed as I bought a boxed pick 4 And it's 24 ways. So I'm guessing only a true boxed bet is all the same numbers. I'm new at playing pick 4-5 games. I always bought scratches and powerball and mega with no luck. So I figured I'd try something different.

FYI: Pick 3 boxed, Pick 4 boxed, Pick 5 boxed all work the same way for winning tickets with matching digits (double digits, triple digits, etc.) Straight Payout $$$ divided by the number of ways.

I scanned the ticket on my lotter app. I always check them regardless I had a winning 120 scratcher that I thought was a looser. But scanned and said I won even checked the scratcher 2 see if I missed something. And could not find anything so either I overlooked something or was a miss print.

Thanks for explaining it to me. Kinda makes sence. Im not the brightest bulb in the box if you know what I mean. I just still think it's kinda scammy.And I do feel duped. I figure the odds would be the same to pick 5 numbers regardless. Just my opinion though. As far as taxes go yes I think if it's anything over 500 the man has his hand out And I don't think you can play str/ box on the same ticket they are separate. Md doesn't do str/box bets on Pick 5. Just straight bets or box bets.

One more thing. Check your tickets here on LP before you go to the store. That way you'll know how much you won before hand and won't get ripped off by a dishonest or non lottery savvy clerk.

If you play two of the same number, that's a double which is a 60 way box.

Click on lottery charts under the Quick Links section. Then click on Quinto Combinations. You can then see all the different combinations for singles, doubles, triples etc, box or straight.

Also under Quick Links, click on lottery results. Then Maryland, then go down to Pick 5, and click prizes and odds to get all the different payouts.

Best thing to do is just fill out a play slip. That way you avoid cashier or... [ More ]

Using MD example a combo with 1 pair (common digits) and 3 unique digits is what is called a 60-way box

So using 11234 as example

there are 6 ways to arrange 234 in any order as 234 243 324 342 423 432 or its known as a permutation which is 3! which 3x2x1 = 6

there are 10 ways to arrange 11 in a 5 digit arrangement 11xxx 1x1xx 1xx1x 1xxx1 x11xx x1x1x x1xx1 xx11x xx1x1 xxx11

so if you substitute xxx with the 6 patterns for 234 you have 10x6 or 60 combinations.

I would like to discuss the Md lottery new pick 5 game as I feel kinda duped. Long story short a bought a dollar straight bet and a dollar box bet. And guess what..... I won on the box bet! Great news right? Yes I just won 10k......So I go scan my ticket and my prize is 800 dollars...Wamp wamp wamp....So I'm figuring out why I only won 800 bucks ....So further inspection I apparently bought a 60 box ticket which I did not want to purchase.
