You might go forward by looking at odds for all kind of different games, also those that aren't daily.

We have Euromillions for 2.5 euro / 1 combination. If you play using a commissionaire then you might have to pay 4 euros, more or less?

The payouts for 4/5/50*0/2/12 were 33.40 euro.

That would be 33.4/2.5 = 13.36 times the bet, or *12.36 net if you only played one combination.

If you took the commissionaire to play here then 33.4 / 4 = 8.35 times your 4 euros bet, or *7.35 net... [ More ]

My wins in the past were mostly fine due to 4/6's with 3/6's with two 2 keys-wheels, 10 and 11 numbers.

3/6 paid bet *5 and still does *5 while the chance to get 3/6 is lower! The class of 2+1/6 pays less than 3/6 but should be paid more. That's where it is not so right. I also saw lowest payouts for 5/6 for the price of 1.25 and 6+1/45 instead of for 0.5 and 6+1/42. (...) So, all they write is that 50% of x drawings. Not fine.

If you download the file of financial results lotto Belgium, it appears that 50% of their overall published cash in is cash out. So they wrote 50% avg on wiki. That is rough information. The last two drawings that was 30% and 29%. The question rose how they are fixing the variable payout amounts. They apparently reject mathematics displayed and don't write more than that 50% rule. No line about taxes, commissions or other. Analyze the financial results? I never won anything by doing that.

I remember 2 euro minimum straight bet, that pays 35*2 + 2 of the bet. That is in that case -2 +72 for 1 of 37.

If you play 18 numbers and get one right, you get 1+35 back. If you play 24 of 37 numbers, you get 1+35 back.

I compared pick 3 to other lottery games in the past. I did not keep the workbook.

That is not a concept unique to Pick 3. In fact, it is the very definition of a lottery game. Can you name a single lottery game anywhere in the world that pays out even odds or better

The bottom of it is that some only focus on probability without making the sums of costs, payouts and eventual taxes.

Another problem is that many cannot calculate, didn't learn it or forgot it, didn't get the entire course of it or other. Some of them ask about the benefit of knowing mathematics. (...)

If the states came out with a Daily game called Singles the payout structure would be 1 in 10 to win $5.

Most of us forget we pay $1 for every ticket we buy so if the payoff is $500, our actual win is $499. A one number hit at $5 is a $4 win.

All the pick-3 payoffs including box bets are based on whatever straight payoff they use. A box bet is three or six straight bets at a reduced price. By getting a $1 box on 123, we're betting 1/6 of a $1 on each way. Some states round it off to $83,... [ More ]

Unless there are more or less possible outcomes, all pick2, pick3, and pick4 games have 100, 1000, and 10,000 possible outcomes and each game has the same odds. Great so each daily game has the same exact odds when it comes to a straight win payout prize even down to the pairs in each game.

So, these games are against us players even before we plunk our money down to partake in them. With odds like these i'm not sure why people don't stop playing them so often when this, as many replied, see... [ More ]

You mostly can play straight front- and back-pair, at least. Some offer pick 1.

Keno also can have a pick 1, apparently you can only play pick 10 in NY, if rules did not change.

Not every state has a pick 2 but in general pick 3 has the best odds of hitting but with much lower payouts and it can be tax free.

You can see the odds and payouts of any game on the Lottery Post results pages. Find the state by going to the main lottery results page and clicking on the state name. Then click the Prizes/Odds link next to the game in question.
