Yeas! I've seen that picture! Lottery officials can be annoyed all they want, but I doubt there's anything they can do about someone showing up in a disguise/costume.

How could lottery officials possibly ask someone wearing a coronavirus face mask to remove it for the picture? G5

There was a Lottery Press Conference where the winner showed up wearing a Ghostface from Scream costume. ! :D Smart move!

On a disturbing note however, the Lottery Officials at that Press Conference looked pissed that he showed up wearing a Ghostface Costume.

Even though I've never won a large sum of money, in my humble opinion, I think lottery winners don't have as much to fear as a result of winning a large jackpot as many people might think they do, provided that they take a few simple steps.

I've seen pictures of winners that obviously took steps to conceal what they actually do look like. For instance I saw a picture of guy wearing a baseball hat and sunglasses holding his big check. I couldn't tell if his moustache was real or not, but if it was, he could have shaved it off. Lately, the best one I've seen was a guy wearing a Coronavirus face mask and sunglasses!

If the lotteries didn't show jackpot winners people would say the winners were made up and the lottery kept the money or something like that. Seem to recall one of the largest Internet lotteries claimed to have had a winner in the middle of a war zone where no one could check if the winner even existed. Shortly afterward they shut down.

Karen, your chances of winning a jackpot are so small you shouldn't get your blood pressure up worrying about having to do a press conference. If you are that worried about it, stick to the low-stakes games or drive up to Georgia where winners are anonymous and buy your tickets at the first gas station over the state line.

There a NP option pm the play slip, standing for no publicity

every US lottery should do that, if nothing else

winnings are not taxed

Are you aware of the fact there is no U.S. lottery and each state lottery decides lottery rules and regulations within their state borders?

Oh and you can only cash your tickets in the state where you purchased them.

There are other Countries such as Australia that do Lottery rules and regulations the right way such as not taking taxes out of Winners and not showing who the Winners are publicly. I have NEVER liked the fact that the majority of the U.S forces Winners to come forward in Public Press Conferences in order to get their Winnings. If their numbers match, just pay them their money in anonymity. Letting the Public know who won say 500 Million before taxes puts a Target on People who should just be ab... [ More ]
