Horse racing has tote boards that show how much is bet on each horse and payoffs are based on it. And players can use that information to decide which horse to bet. If the California Lottery could show that type of info, players would be screaming because they didn't play that combo because it would only pay $7000.

If they can publish where winning tickets were paid for, then they also know the location. A ticket has an identity number that is related to the combinations plaid. You get the payout based on that number. It also will only pay once. Some refused to play that combination because too many would win. That's not like the 1 2 3 4 5 that they tell you not to play. Sure there is. Avoid patterns, calendar numbers, and obvious repeats/multiples. In some games multiple winners are common regardless of the winning numbers, but choosing your numbers can make it wildly unlikely that you'll share with more than 1 or 2 others unless sales ae more than the number of possible combinations.

$7000 is still more than the guy that played 3-6-8-36-38 got.

They obviously have a database because they know how many tickets have winning combinations in all their drawn games, but never read where any state lottery allows the public to view that information.

Even if players knew that 45 tickets were sold on a five number combination, it was drawn and $7000 is much better than tearing up losing ticket.

In a Cash 5 game, 4 and 5 number combinations aren't abnormal.

Obviously 3-6-9-36-39 was played by lots of players, but we'll never know which five numbers are played the most or even the combos played on 10 or more tickets. Not much anyone can do to prevent splitting a jackpot with multiple players.

Might be that some sold the idea, some lotto guru or system maker? Others show around their combinations before playing them. That is as foolish.
