Hey cape scratcher, I'm actually in Washington visiting family. The $30 cash blowout game has 1-10 odds for a prize. It works out to 1-15 odds for a $100 prize and 1-30 odds for a $500 prize. There are 30 tickets in a book. So out of 30 tickets, you'll have 2 $100 winners and 1 $500 winner.

Hi Spence...I was in WA B4 going on cruise and came across a store with active Blowout games, one each machine for TWO total. I tried going through the sequence you had noted regarding identifying the number of remaining tickets and seemed to have hit a dead end (pic below). Did Washington Lottery change what info was avail from when you last described how to determine remaining tickets? My game in Washington State is being replaced with a new $30 ticket called Evergreen State Riches

Ticket price $30

Odds 1 in 2.98

87% of prizes are $30, $40, $50, or $60. Of those about 50% are $30.

40% of total winners are $30. (Break even)

There are only 9 total prizes over $1000. Odds to win a prize over $1000 = 1 in 206,000 or cost of 6.18 million dollars in tickets to get a prize over $1000.

Total claimers in game = 70 out of 1.84 million tickets

Yeah I get what your saying but I still think it's disgusting as hell. Yeah it's legal because the state gets the profit and the state makes the laws. It's kind of like if we let the heroin dealer make the laws I'm pretty sure heroin would be legal. At least for him. Just like the lottery is only legal for the govt.

No, I don't see any Texas game that can be beat without just getting lucky at this point. The $100 game has to many different low level prizes. $150,$200,$300 and $500. It seems counterintuitive but games where lowest prize is more than the ticket price are really bad for chasing. They are sprinkling little small profits on wins by the profits are so small they don't make up for the amount you lose on losers. You might buy 1 or 2 and get lucky and hit $500 but long term this game is murder.

It's the nature of the beast. TX lottery makes over 8 bill in total sales. As long as people keep spending, the prices you pay will keep going up. It's a side of the current economic situation that people don't like to talk about. Hence, the moves by the gov. And then there's also the psychology of today. I agree. It's why I haven't bought a full pack yet. Too rich for me right now. Money for playing is tight. Do u see any Texas ticket worth chasing? I've been checking pack ranges before I buy for grand prizes and so far that's helping steer clear of packs that already have the GP. Got a friend that works retail so they give me a heads up on new packs in stock.

I have been watching all the YouTube videos scratching these tickets, hoping to find a chase angle. As I would fly down to Texas and get a room if it was worthwhile. So far I've bought three tix and won 150 on two of them. Recently bought the new $30 pack and won550 so ya, 'only lost $200'. Hahah. Bought one of the $50 packs and won $900 so lost $100. I'm on a losing streak.

There are already loads of videos like scratching full packs on YouTube and returns of $1050-$1100 seem to be the norm.

I did really good. I only lost $450. That kind of thing. Theses States really have peoples thinking warped. If I was serious about buying these tickets, I would study videos and anything else first. With a guaranteed return of $850 I'm guessing either a $300 or $500 in nearly every book. You could get to $850 with three $150 and two $200 as well. I would look for a cha... [ More ]

Hi txwinr, if I'm calculating correctly it looks like the overall return on the game is 79.8%, so consistent with typical higher $ scratch offs. Prize overall return values are concentrated 86% in the $150 to $500 prize levels. Here's the % overall game return for each value

$150: 25%

$200: 16.7%

$300: 12.5%

$500: 31.3%

$1000: 4.2%

$10000: 0.3%

$100000: 0.3%

$20,000000: 9.6%

So with overall odds of 1/3.49 and books being 15 tickets one can expect 4, maybe 5 winner... [ More ]

I'm waiting a bit yet to see if there is a winner in the first range of packs. That method (figuring out if the GP has already been played in a range) has worked for me. The secondary prizes on this aren't much. I odn't understand why they didn't do more $1M or even $500k prizes. they have some $100k, but for a $100 ticket I'd expect a lot more secondary prizes. The fact that they don't make me wonder if there are a lot more winners of little amounts above the guaranted pack return.... [ More ]

PA's $50 packs are $2500. Such a rip cause you can go 5+ tickets in a row with losers. Def not a chasing ticket. $100 is nuts. I know Texas was 1st to $50, so I am sure other states will follow to $100 soon.

Go on You Tube and watch Fixin' to Scratch . He did 2 videos scratching this ticket. Pretty interesting.

Also AR Platinum has a video on You Tube doing this ticket, though I haven't watched it yet. Not sure, but I heard he did a pack which costs $1500 and won back $1100.

Ya. I'll probably buy a full pack one of these days and try it. I'll let you know how it turns out. I bought one of the $50 packs on a why the heck not moment that had a horrible return, really low for a $1k pack, but thought why not, and it had tons of winners, I ended up winning over 1k on it so went back and bought another of the same kind, and same result, lots of smaller wins that pushed it over 1k so went back and bought ANOTHER pack, spent 3k and won almost 4k in small wins so about a 700... Maybe not state tax but everyone has to pay the 24% federal tax so a $1000 winner is really only a $760 winner. I would bet anytime someone hits that $1000 they have lost more than that though.

$208 million dollar profit. I can't wrap my head around that.

Everything bigger in Texas. i think they dont have to pay any tax either, theyre known for that. I heard it was suppose to be like a full page scratch off, i guess its not practical. Im just surprised they don't got $60($69), $70 $80, $90 tickets missed opportunities, cant go back now only up.

Wow is this the only state with $100 tickets. This is nuts.

Looks like a terrible pay table to me.

Odds to win = 3.49 to 1. That is horrible for a $100 ticket.

Odds to win top prize is about 2.6 million to 1.

The state profit on this game is $208 million dollars.

Odds to win any prize over $1000 = over 36,000 to 1.

The only thing I like is that the minimum prize is $150. Still so many small prize levels - $150, $200, $300. These are small considering its a $100 ticket.

Texas just rolled out a $100 ticket. Guarantee amount is only about $800. It's over 50% so not as awful as some of the $50 and $20 ones. Has anyone looked at it? Thoughts? Think the gp is 20m.
