I wish there was a study on the actual frequency of triples/quads. Across all US lotteries that employ RNGs instead of balls.

Maybe even take it further and compare these stats to mechanical ball draws from other states.

Guessing, I would say they hit less with RNGs. More triples/quads = more payouts. Just a theory....

When somebody working for the Indiana Lottery forget check the allow repeat digits box on their brand new RNG computer program, the number of pick-4 outcomes was reduced from 10,000 to 5040. The games weren't rigged, but players could have taking advantage.

You made a great point about not playing if the games rigged against the players . When the PA pick-3 drawing was rigged, they forgot to tell the bookies the fix was in and that's how they got caught. Still don't know exactly how many draw... [ More ]

People still played Hot Lotto after it was thought to be rigged and played the PA pick-3 after they knew a drawing was rigged. Many players won the night the PA pick-3 game was rigged and probably hoped it would be rigged again. The question of can and/or are they rigged is on another thread.

Continuing to play depends on if you're in on the fix.

When you combine the time after the Posting Deadline with the Computerized Draw, you have a process that can be manipulated by the Lottery. I am not saying it is a fact, but It would be easy to do and hard to detect. I wonder when the Numbers are selected in that window of Time. Late in the window would allow the computers collecting the picks to identify combinations that produce the revenue generating rollover.
