No I definitely saw this on YouTube. In the video the pranksters were saying something like, thanks to my special friend Karice Donathan for giving us the idea. So they must have got the idea from her, not you.

Your post reminds me of when I was watching a fake Axl Rose prank on YouTube where a guy put an Axl Rose look-alike outside a Convenience Store and a couple of people, a man and a Woman on separate occasions saw him and asked for his autograph and were elated they got to meet him. It's very simple, if someone feels the need to resort to violence over this, they should anticipate their consequences. There are plenty of pranks to go around, just go on YouTube and look up Bushman creep, where a guy wears a costume that looks like a bush, and they scare the living crap out of people as they are walking by. Sometimes they get smacked around, but at the end of the day, they are aware of the possibility of it happening.

So.... the person who planted the fake ticket is also recording the people finding the ticket and following them into the store to record them arguing with the clerk? Does this not suggest to you that the people who are finding the ticket are also in on the gag?
