Thanks, those are good instructions. For Android phones, that's the best way because I haven't found a way to copy and paste images on Android.

For iPhone users, you can just browse your photos and choose Copy , then go into the Lottery Post editor and select Paste (by long-pressing the editor).

Yeah it got me confused at the beginning then I found out the hard way. Just follow these steps,

See where it's highlighted in green? It has a picture it looks like two humps. Click on that.

When you click on that, another page will pop up. Go two steps to the right and hit upload. And then you can browse for pictures from your phone.

You Just Have To Change The Default Font From Lottery Post To Whichever Font You Want As Well As The Font Size.

Same Goes For Text Color And Background Color On The Same Row,Far Right.

I know what you mean because I'm experiencing the same problem using a desktop. We have to be able to adequately articulate the issue to Todd so he can troubleshoot or not.

Maybe we are not explaining it good enough or something, I don't know.

It's frustrating because ultimately nothing is being done because no one thinks anything is wrong.

Todd, I noticed this while uploading pictures to report the original paste issue in Android phones/tablets.

It's a good feature and We can be sure that We won't loose those pictures as they are maintained by LP itself.

Example path for one of the images:

One of the big improvements that we've been talking about a lot since June is that you can just paste an image right into the forums now. On a PC you can even drag and drop from your computer right into the editor.

For video, that's a big no. Lottery Post cannot host videos, so you'll need to create a YouTube account and upload there, and then you can insert the video right into the editor with the Insert Media button.

Thanks Todd for addressing this. That's awesome. I am getting the native menu with options to cut/copy/paste now.

Since my Samsung keyboard has auto-correct, I don't have to look up spell checks.

If on Apple iOS and Microsoft based mobile devices(phones and tablets) the click menu works fine, you can apply this fix just for Android users alone(I hope it is applied for Android users alone). I will need the options in native menu more than the editor's features like spell check.

Good job Todd. I had trouble pasting pictures. Now it gives me the option to paste. Before all mobile browser use to say something to the effect 'copy and paste is not supported, use crtl c/x/v'

This is Swiftkey Keyboard for android.

I have purchased many pro version keyboards.

Nowadays, people are sticking to stock keyboards either due to privacy concerns or due to availability of more features in native/vendor keyboards.

I will dig further and see which one works.

Reiterating the fix here helps more new users who might have missed the old cut/copy/paste issue.

Yeah, right click for WYSIWYG editor is restricted(textareas). I get a clear in-window information message that asks users to use Ctrl+X, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V for cut, copy and paste respectively.

I am fine with that.

I was just giving a hint that the right click on desktop browser and the single tap floating menu in Android browser are similar. In case if We come up with a fix, it might be helpful.

What can make this issue so difficult is that copy/paste is one of the most commonly used features on any phone or computer, but it can be so hard to provide support for because it is done differently on practically every browser and device. Android is particularly difficult to support because there are endless variations.

On a desktop you paste using the Ctrl+X, C, and V buttons. Lottery Post has never been able to paste by clicking a button in the editor or by right-clicking inside the editor. It is a limitation that web browsers impose on any website. Also, right-clicking inside the editor has always offered editor-specific options, not the default context menu provided by the browser. I mentioned previously in this thread about Android having the paste options on the keyboard, rather than in a popup menu. Have you checked that out?

The problem from a support perspective is that there are 1,000 different keyboards out there for Android, so you can see the paste icon circled on my device below, but yours may be different.

Right clicking in the WYSIWYG editor in Desktop + MS WIndows 11 + chrome gives a shortcut menu with Link on it.

This is the same thing that We are seeing on our android browsers. It may be Left click vs right click action difference.

Hi,

We are showing live examples out of Android + smart phone/tablet + chrome firefox platform . If you are on another phone OS like Apple iOS/ MS Windows or another phone/tablet manufacturer Apple/MS or another browser Safari/edge, you will not know/see what We are referring to.

Getting back to testing on Firefox.

Replicating same scenario : long press and get the icon below blinking cursor and press on it. Expecting the paste floating ribbon menu(nope Link ).

When you hit the 'reply' that's when the 'link...' icon shows up. There's no in your choices of icons available.

when you're using the cellphone at least in android. What I did is I download an app called 'Snip-t' on Google play store. I also download a keyboard

called 'Hacker's keyboard' that has all the function of a 'windows' keyboard like ctrl/shift/alt which lets you do a copy and paste using ctrl x/v/p.

There is no issue. Simply click in the reply box so the phone's keyboard shows then press the clipboard icon and whatever you have copied will be pasted.

Geez, people keep making an issue out of nothing. It's not exactly the same as before. So what! It's still an easy thing to do....

Difference 1: In the WYSIWYG or rich text editor, when I tap once and tap on the blue icon below cursor usually I get a mini popup menu ribbon with paste as option. I am getting just Link

Similarly in any other editor when I select text - words/block, I used to get the mini popup menu ribbon with cut,copy,paste,select all, web search,etc.,

Those icons (which do still appear on desktop) are mostly unnecessary, and some don't even do anything. For example, the Paste button always states Your browser doesn't support direct access to the clipboard when you click it. The only button which does anything useful is the Paste as Plain Text button, which I can add to mobile if people want it there. It ensures that anything pasted is stripped of all formatting, such as font, color, size, etc.

When you switch to the website version on your smartphone then you can see the cut/copy/paste icon. If you use the mobile version then it's not there. Todd, is this suppose to be this way? The icons are missing. BTW I'm using Opera browser on an Andriod Huawei P9 phone.

Sorry to double post similar information

I have seen this on LP alone. More of I don't type content on other 3rd party sites but Gmail web view on Chrome and others work as expected and all others.

BTW I use Samsung Note 9 AT T version and Chrome browser.

I used a Note 4 earlier and then switched to Note 9. Issue is more of Android browsers and WYSIWYG editor.

If you could identify the fix for it, it would be great

I have faced this for long time. Even with old version of our website. In the old version I think there was some alert or notification about use ctrl+c and ctrl+v. I don't remember exactly.

I usually use the source view and enter the needed text in a paragraph tag.

It helped me and I didn't report it.

Most other days, I use Chrome on my desktop.

Download a small program for windows called 'postimage' and you'll be able to copy and paste on Lotterypost easily.

If you're using Firefox download an 'add-on' called 'allow-right click' which allows you copy and paste on Lotterypost.

When you install postimage, you'll be able to screen capture the whole screen or part of the screen and cut and paste.

The add-on 'right-click' allows you to have this option.

Again, it works just as it would on any website. If you want to copy something, you highlight it and then press Ctrl+C to copy. If you want to paste something you press Ctrl+V.

There is no difference between copying/pasting on your phone in ANY website or app and doing it in LP. Copy and paste is a basic feature of any smartphone. There is nothing special about copy and pasting in LP. It's just a website.

If you are not familiar with how to copy and paste on your phone, there are lots of YouTube videos that can show you how.

Oh yeah, that's right. On Android the Paste option appears right on the keyboard. You just tap to open the keyboard, and there it is right in the top row. It's even easier than on an iPhone.

If I press and hold, only the link option appears.

If I press in the reply box so I can type, my Android phone (pixel 5) shows the keyboard and clipboard. If I press the clipboard, the copied text is then pasted.

The clipboard icon should show above the keyboard where the gif and settings icons are.

When I long press on my Huawei P9 Harmony OS phone, I get this:

I get this 'Link' box. When I click on the Link box, it gives me this window with these option.

I don't get the option. Don't know if there's anything you can suggest what to do. If I want to post a picture

using my phone (andriod/harmonyOS) I have to click on this and this upload the picture from the 'file' option upload.

Stats, as much as I do like my iPhone, I HATE using it to read The LP. I'll use it in a pinch but that's it.

What I didn't tell you is I still have and love my iPhone 8. Talk about using an ancient device but I don't care what anybody says or thinks about it. Paste into the editor the same way you'd paste into a text message. Long press and use the phone options that are shown.

I just screenshot the editor as I was typing this on an iPhone. You can see the pop up menu the iPhone shows when I long press. See the Paste option?

So I am also demonstrating that I could paste an image and edit resize it right in the editor.

Yes. Doing this on a mobile device is clumsy. My guess is you would have to do a screen shot first or already have a picture in the device and use the image icon and upload it. Not practical and time consuming. I don't see a cut / copy/ paste on my andriod device. It's on the desktop.
