Found another method of creating a more balanced ten line 2 if 3 of 10 digit pick 3 wheel that uses all ten digits in each digit position. The guarantee is the same, three different digits with a 72% chance. Has a probability of one of the lines will appear in box once in every 22 drawings.

I tried to adapt the 8-number wheel to cover 00, 11, 22, etc. and the best I could get was an 18-number wheel. I'm pretty sure that's not optimal. Gut says a 12- or 13- number wheel is optimal.

Not sure if anyone explained the guarantee only applies to drawings with three different digits. Getting 1 in 8 chance of collecting in 72% of the drawings is better than the slightly over 50% the fourteen line 3 if 4 of 10 digit pick 4 guarantee.

You just have to remember that most programz don't recognize 0 az a valid numba when writing wheelz..So, it haz ta be 1-10.

This is a good topic because there is some interesting math behind it. First, read the link Raven posted to see some good examples in action.

Now keep in mind this only works for Pick-3 sets that have all distinct digits. The basic principle is that there are 45 unique pairs of digits in which both digits are different. These are

You just can't pick the right numbers.

I played P3 years ago and did well on it.

But.....I grew bored winning small change, and decided to play for real money and a real challenge.

BTW, you should have played all 10 digits for the one you missed. Would have spent $10 and won $80.

I didn't know you played Pick 3. (There's also split pairs, 1st and last number) in every set too.

General rules:

I might be a little late to the game, but I just noticed this.

The Infamous $99 Wheel ( 2 out of 3 in 8 combos ), is apparently a box wheel generator. Take any 3 digit combination, run the program, the same 8 combos will come up for all 6 straight singles variations, and all 3 double variations.

Hope this helps someone.
