The segment did point out that most of the retailers they visited did the right thing by explaining the ticket has to be cashed at a lottery office or by mail. Some even gave her the claim form and explained how to complete it.

Exactly. I think she is more worried about the retailer being conned by a visit from the lottery to pay a winning ticket and thinks it is entrapment. It is not.

And I'm pretty sure that in these sting operations the lottery is targeting retailers that have been the subject of multiple complaints by players. It's not a good use of resources to just randomly sample retailers to check their honesty. There has to be smoke.

I think Karentasha should download her lottery's app so she can check her tickets herself and stop worrying so much about getting conned by a shady retailer.

The thief might have thought it was just publicity for the lottery. The thief was not unfairly set up.

In my other thread, I mentioned how cop who was in on a undercover lottery investigation told a Clerk who claimed the winning ticket was a loser and then tried to claim it for herself that the winning check was ready and he'd give it to her at her job. Of course, he was helping to set up her arrest.

Has anyone actually gotten a winning check given to them at their job
